The bolt torque issue is completely removed from the “plug” issue.

Reminds me of the old WWII flight log.

Pilot: Something loose in cockpit

Ground Crew: Something tightened in cockpit.

Boeing moved HQ to Chitcago.

Draw your own conclusions about Management competency.

As I understand it, the bolts do not attach the plug directly to the frame conventionally.

The lower part of the plug has two bolts capturing it over a spring loaded bar on the bottom of the frame.

Then the upper part has capture bars that are maneuvered into the channels by pushing the plug downward against the spring then up into the "C" channels when the plug is in place.

The bolts are then installed in the "C" channel underneath the capture bars to keep them from traveling back down the channel and releasing the plug.

All three of the visible bolts are loose. The hidden fourth bolt probably is too.

When the first 737MAX issues appeared a few years ago, I got on Boeing’s web site. It was full of all sorts of DEI rah rah BS. I was just SMDH.

Boeing was ruined when they bought out McDonnell Douglas but MD's executive culture took over Boeing. Boeing bought out MD in 1997, then moved their headquarters from Seattle to Chicago in 2001.

With the execs separated from the shop floor, the engineering culture of Boeing became a bean-counting culture.

The loose bolt is not the one with the castellated nut. It appears to be the bottom one on the right side bracket.

“Boeing moved HQ to Chitcago.”

They since moved to Arlington, Virginia; DC area. It was the Boeing defense HQ.

It was a bean counters wet dream long before that. FIL was there ‘54-’72. He hated being in management.

Yes, all three are loose. IMO, they need a flat washer under the lock washer as well.

In the automotive industry they don’t like to admit when bolts were not tightened properly at the factory. So they just come up with some BS about needing to use locktite on them.

I would not be surprised if that is what happens here. Even though you can bet those bolts were never tightened at the factory. They will most likely never admit that.

Boeing moved to SC with Nikki Haley’s help and subsequent placement on the BOD. nice work if you can get it. Loose screws in Haley AND on the aircraft in critical areas of the vehicle. Union costs are the least of Boeings problems— starting with idiotic DEI management. Used to be a great company.

“Boeing moved to SC with Nikki Haley’s help and subsequent placement on the BOD. “

Boeing made that transition long before Nikki ever became governor.
