House Republicans are calling on President Biden to withdraw his administration’s proposal to ban menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars, saying the regulation would provide a “huge opportunity” to Mexican cartels.
Nine GOP lawmakers in a Dec. 11 letter to the White House noted that Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) “has reportedly expanded its recent operations to include cigarette smuggling and sales” — potentially “using the profits … to fund their fentanyl operation in the US.”
The group warned Biden that the proposed ban would allow the cartel “and other criminal organizations to expand their smuggling of tobacco products within US borders, especially considering the regulated US menthol market is worth approximately $30 billion.”
“Federal rules, such as the proposed menthol and flavored cigar ban, could provide further financial resources to CJNG and other criminal organizations that would fuel their already brutal war against the United States,” wrote Rep. Carol Miller (R-WV), who led the letter.

83% of black people who smoke, smoke menthol cigarettes.
Way to serve your core constituency, Democrats!
The “opposition” party in America is worried about menthol fags? A strongly worded letter must be written soon. /s
Blacks will be bumming Mexican fags.
This move informs me that the Democrats have election fraud down so well, that they do not fear losing one of their core constituencies — black people.
Bull sh*t.
Republicans can win a lot of the black vote by committing to legalizing menthols
Thanks, Tell It Right!
Get a load of this mouthful:
“Banning menthol—the last allowable flavor—in cigarettes and banning all flavors in cigars will help save lives, particularly among those disproportionately affected by these deadly products. With these actions, the FDA will help significantly reduce youth initiation, increase the chances of smoking cessation among current smokers, and address health disparities experienced by communities of color, low-income populations, and LGBTQ+ individuals, all of whom are far more likely to use these tobacco products,” said Acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock, M.D. “Together, these actions represent powerful, science-based approaches that will have an extraordinary public health impact. Armed with strong scientific evidence, and with full support from the Administration, we believe these actions will launch us on a trajectory toward ending tobacco-related disease and death in the U.S.”
As they say in Manhattan, oy vey.
This ”science” is a study conducted in Canada, based on - are you ready for this? - 138 menthol smokers. They extrapolated the result of thirty Canadian menthol smokers who quit to all Americans. Good science, eh?
You can draw a very bright line from the successful weaponization of anti-tobacco sentiment, and the destruction of rights, specifically those of commercial property owners such as the owners of cafes, restaurants, bars, stores, environmentalism, and the knock-on effects on civil liberties during COVID-1984.
In 1995, California was the first state to enact a statewide smoking ban for restaurants. I worked in NYC when the idea to ban smoking in bars and clubs gained steam, and ultimately passed in 2002. It sparked a citywide debate, with the pro-ban people gaining the upper hand. I mean, how can you defeat leftist-based emotional argument of "I won't die of secondhand smoke and my clothes won't smell"?
And there was much rejoicing. Except...what really happened was a sort-of violation of the Takings clause. What all the anti-smokers et al achieved was the sanctioning of the state to tell commercial property owners what can and can't happen on their property, without compensation.
NY has moved beyond bars, clubs, offices, and public places to outdoors. Other municipalities have enacted similar takings, erm, bans. Nobody fights for commercial property rights anymore. Marx and Engels are laughing in hell.
Second-hand smoke is what economists call an externality - an indirect cost or benefit to an uninvolved third party that arises as an effect of another party's (or parties') activity. Guess what else is an externality? Air pollution, specifically exhaust from motor vehicles. The same folks who complain about the smell of smoke are likely driving cars with an internal combustion engine. This may be only one example of an externality, but the whole environmental movement rests on "the need for government to regulate industry to make the air clean." You can draw a straight line from the “ban smoking indoors” movement to Greta Thunberg.
Finally, there is evidence that demonizing tobacco basically results in more people dying of obesity. We destroyed the tobacco industry and pumped up the junk food industry. Awesome.
AKA reefer.
When I quit smoking, I quit menthol first. It was tough so I compensated by smoking twice as much. Wait until that comes out in a ‘study’.
I then switched to vaping -now a sin too- and then successfully quit. I still sometimes enjoy the smell of a freshly lit cigarette but have no wish to try one.
These caring, anti-smoking zealots won’t be happy until the rest of us are not happy.

Yes, what the article fails to mention is the close relationship between Cartels and the DNC. Fast and Furious, for example, gave Sinaloa unobstructed access to Obama’s Chicago drug markets, and weapons for use in Mexico.
Anytime Brandon Junta officials go to Mexico, they are cutting a deal with Cartel.
There was this meeting last week in Mexico City, Mayorkas and Blinken. They think we are idiots and do not know that they are dancing with the devil down there. Propaganda link, love the CNN lies and drivel:

Doesn’t Obama and his daughters all smoke menthol cigs?
If they put menthol in weed no problem
Bidenomics is making people rich beyond their wildest dreams.
People in Mexican Cartels that is.
The “positive” way to look at this, and all the awful things that have been done by this administration, is that more and more people are getting completely fed up, and want this administration GONE, and will say so at the ballot box in such overwhelming numbers that the voter fraud the democrats are planning, will not be able to keep up.
LIBERAL CIGARETTE LAWS KILLED ERIC GARDNER!
There are 9 southern border sectors.
All things being equal...
9 x 24 = 216
216 x 52 = 11,232
Now, let's add in the zeros, shall we?
11,252,000,000
The Cartels are raking in Eleven Billion Dollars a year, plus or minus a billion or two, in one year, on one operation.
This does not count the income from the gotaways.
This also does not count the income from the drug smuggling operations.
This is in cooperation with the FED GOV SCUM TRAITORS!
There's outrage on Capitol Hill over menthol cigarettes.
It took the Republicans 3 years to take a 60-person CODEL to the OPEN southern border. YIPEE!
I just hope black folk finally realize that liberals and Democrats are NOT their friends.
