Harvard President Claudine Gay has resigned after a disastrous, brief tenure at as head of the prestigious university.
In an email to colleagues today, she wrote that she was standing down after 'consultation' with the school's board, which has been under pressure to replace her after defending her congressional testimony about campus antisemitism.
She failed to acknowledge where she went wrong - making no mention of her refusal to condemn antisemitism as harassment at a December 5 congressional hearing or the mounting claims of plagiarism against her - but said she had been the victim of racist threats.
'It has become clear that it is in the best interests of Harvard for me to resign so that our community can navigate this moment of extraordinary challenge with a focus on the institution rather than any individual,' Gay wrote.
She said it had been 'frightening' to find herself the target of threats, and 'distressing' to have her character questioned.
Gay will be replaced by Alan M. Garber, Provost and Chief Academic Officer, who sat behind her at the infamous December 5 hearing, nodding as she made her remarks.
Her six month tenure as president is the shortest in the schools history.

Did she write the letter herself, or did she “borrow” passages from other resignation letters?

So racism got her the job and then racism caused her to lose the job. Seems like a net zero to me. Oh Harvard, you are no longer elite.
Did anyone but her care what color of skin she had? Did the color of skin make her anti-semite? Did the color of her skin cause her to plagiarize?
She’ll probably end up with a higher paying job soon. Some uber-rich leftist will arrange for it.
The real racism is her getting the job int he first place over other, far more qualified candidates...
And not being expelled for stealing other people’s work.

We have to weigh the “context” of those racist “threats” Ms.Gay.
More than on rather several peoples work. Besides she didn’t belong in that position as I see it.
It’s not racism, it’s plagerism.
