There is a full-scale war of intimidation being waged by the far-left, and it has targeted yet another prominent figure on the right.
Legal analyst Jonathan Turley was swatted on Friday according to Alan Henney, who reports on various crimes and police responses around Washington, D.C.
That follows the swatting of three Republican lawmakers since Christmas. Specifically, Sen. Rick Scott, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Rep. Brandon Williams all reported incidents. Jonathan Turley then spoke out against the trend, noting that a lack of prosecutions is leading to an increased number of swatting calls because there is no deterrent.

It’s attempted murder and should be procecuted as such. If nothing else it’s also similar to setting off fire alarms with no actual fire.
I also think this is a “defund” tactic in so far as it seriously diverts funds from critical police operations.

Jonathan Turley is not even a member of “the right”. He is a law professor who leans heavily towards the left and admits he dislikes Trump and supported Biden in 2020 (all to return our nation to “normalcy” of course). However, he does support the Constitution and due process for all citizens.

Reminds me of one of the highest points of City of Detroit crime in which people trying to return home between downtown sports and entertainment events and back north across the freeway system to escape to the safe suburbs. (Now the naive Detroit supporters think it’s okay again. NFL or Taylor Swift are apparently worth the risk.)
After several cars were bumped off the road or boxed in by thugs each week it was declared to be a crime crisis.
Peak was an elderly black couple, both disabled, in a special controls car who were forced off the freeway onto the shoulder and brutally beaten and robbed by three black men.

Mayor Coleman Young was the first black mayor of Detroit 1974-1994) and famously said: “Some whites are saying they don’t like having me as mayor here. I say if whites don’t like it then move out across 8 Mile.” (Northern boundary of Detroit).
It would sure be great if we could gather all those creeps into one place and let them kill one another...solve everyone’s problems! They don’t want to play by the rules; fine with us, they don’t get to live among decent folks...

At some point moronic cops who initiate SWAT raids on phone calls and/or bad info are either complicit or incompetent and need prosecution, firing, lawsuits etc.

I agree that scenario is very possible. If not official Fed employees, then persons closely connected and using information from the Feds in order to mask their own phone number. In addition they may be given personal information concerning their targets as to their address, family members, times at home, usual routes of travel etc. This is truly getting scary to think there are actually people who think this behavior is something we should accept and become used to occurring on a regular basis. For instance, who here at FR would do such a thing? Or, even think of it?
