In a landmark decision, the High Court of Justice ruled unanimously on Thursday that same-sex couples may adopt children under the terms of a 1981 adoption law.
The court re-interpreted the current law that, if read literally, excludes same-sex couples from adopting children, and asserted that the legislation’s true intent was to ensure the good of the adopted child.
In light of modern understandings of child welfare, the law could be interpreted as allowing for same-sex adoption, the court said.

Nope, the law literally forbids same-sex adoption. But the court re-interpreted it, so Knesset members who wanted to change the law can now sit on their butts and do nothing.
It sounds like this ruling was made by the REALLY HIGH COURT.

Good Lord that’s an utter garbage ruling. The interpretation logic is asinine and retarded and gives feint cover for “we did it because we wanted to.”
It’s the same retarded rationale they used to redefine marriage here - “it’s just between two people in love - why can’t they be married?!”
Because for the same stupid reason that you can use the same logic to say that polygamy must be legalized because more people in a “marriage” are better.
Or why can’t you marry your child? It’s just “two people”
But we live in a time where laws and logic are meaningless and “I do what I feel because it makes me feel magnanimous” is the law of the land.
They have disobeyed the Commandments and not followed the Statutes given them time and again throughout their history.
In truth, those Commandments and Statutes apply to all of us.
Do other countries or territories in the area permit same sex adoption?
Western Civilization has turned into Western Perversion in just one generation.
Does this make Israel part of “globohomo” that must be destroyed?
