The newly elected Democrat mayor of Jacksonville, Florida, celebrated the removal of a Confederate statue in the city, which was officially gone before noon Wednesday.
Democrat Mayor Donna Deegan, who won her mayoral bid in May, celebrated the removal of the statue in Springfield Park, formally known as Confederate Park. The monument in question, “In Memory of Our Women of the Southland,” depicts a mother with her two children at her side, looking down at a book upon her lap. It was erected in October 1915.
The Democrat mayor, who said during her time on the campaign trail that she would remove Confederate monuments, contended that she is not trying to “erase history” with the statue’s removal.
“Symbols matter,” Deegan said in a statement.

Jews fought on both sides.
Why do they remove statues of democrats?
Northern leadership did not like Jews at all, southern leadership did
It will only be a matter of time before these despots start targeting and removing statues for any reason they see fit to virtue signal. Washington, Lincoln, and many Generals that served in the military in any capacity are targets. Even when the country gets its senses, MLK,Jr. and George Floyd honorariums will be removed. The money spent to remove the statues is a foolish expenditure. May this Mayor “rot in hell”.
The Dems want to erase their slavery and racists past.
In those days, Jews were more prominent in the South than in the North. They were white and didn’t rock the boat so Southern elites got along well with them. Jews weren’t yet as prominent in the North so Northern elites didn’t think about them very much.
After the war, as Jews became wealthier, Northern elites came to see them as a threat and wanted to exclude them from their social clubs and resort hotels. Much later of course, Southern leaders came to see Jews from the North as a threat and didn’t like them either.
In any case, in 1860, Jews who came to the North from Germany largely supported the Union, as the other immigrants from Germany did.
We are now. The ruling Elites have just made being a slave so painless that most do not even realize they have been enslaved. Just as most believe they own their homes and property.
No, normally men don’t with rare exceptions. As a fairly reliable rule, this is a feminine mentality. If anyone, ever, could get their feelings hurt by the art, it must come down, the activity must stop, and everyone must be made to feel nice and get their boo boos kissed.
It is a local issue not a state issue.
That’s a tad reductionist, don’t you think? It’s like assuming that if men were barred from voting, it would bring an end to raping & robbing, pillaging & plundering or that the absence of men’s proclivities for assertiveness and conflict would armed warfare. Its far more complicated than that. It’s down to individual temperament more than anything. In your analogy, you are forgetting the enormous portions of males that have always been indecisive weenies & women who have been staunch conservatives, Christian traditionalists, constitutionalists & free marketeers. Overwhelmingly, married women vote no different than their husbands. I don’t think gender makes as big a difference as lifestyle choices.
If you have a deep faith, value marriage & life, have traditional attitudes, value an ordered society and believe that an individuals success is decided by self-determination- you will be naturally inclined toward constitutional principles, strong moral standards, free markets & individual liberties- male or female. If, however, you are a person who doesn’t value those foundational principles, you will more likely favor faithlessness, alternative morals, collectivism, opposition to a constitution and disdain for human freedom.
What’s going on now has far more to do with life choices than gender. We might be smarter to limit voting further to Americans born in the U.S. to naturalized American citizens, married men & women, those older than 25, land & property owners, people of faith, people of anglo-celtic heritage who speak English and those that can pass a strong constitutional & historical exam 😉
Um...uh...slavery.
Exactly, you understand the implications of destroying monuments.
That sure is offensive. Her dress doesn’t have hoops in it, and she’s obviously molesting those children, drawing them in with her alluring, hoopless dress. The harlot./s
Even worse, she may be teaching the children to read by phonics!
NOOOO! And did she even elicit their pronouns?! How do they even know if they’re boys!
You’re overthinking it. You don’t put chicks in charge of Government. Who can imagine a woman in Ikes position, running D-Day? When the Comanche attacked, it wasn’t women at the front or women saying where they are moving the tribe. Ignore it at your peril, but the fact is, no great society in all of history has been run and directed by women. Not... a...single...One.
Imagine the farce that Independence Hall would have been if the Declaration and Constitution was written by women.
And the pussified men you refer to? They were enthralled by feminine thinking.
Amazons didn’t exist. They were basically created by Homer, and as comic relief.
It has ever been thus.
And it’s not mean, it’s just the natural order. Men make poor homemakers and child rearers. Generally, when picking a kindergarten teacher, men are not your best choice.
Horses for courses.

Agree with the exception that those in the military should get to vote. And I think males should vote at majority age. And nobody on public assistance should ever be allowed to vote.
And, she is obviously reading the BIBLE! Reeeeeeeee...
