I live in the south, was reared in rural areas and I was college educated. I have known a number of poor dirt farmers with more logical, common sense than pre-programmed Ivy league drones. While they lack “education”, generally they possess far more wisdom than the average Ivy league drone. Those dirt farmers had to study and devise solutions to their problems every day of their lives, so they learned how to think for themselves . . . not a common skill among IV leaguers.

Matthews says the rural are dupes and not smart like him because they lack college degrees, thus they are incapable to figure anything out and are weak-minded and easily influence. Aside from the insult, he has nothing to back it up except casting aspersions.
This is an argument “by reference to authority”, essentially “I’m right because it says so right here that I’m right”.
It is a false logic that carries no weight and would disqualify you from a scored debate. But, hey, the MSM broadcasts it so it must be so.
