Matthews says the rural are dupes and not smart like him because they lack college degrees, thus they are incapable to figure anything out and are weak-minded and easily influence. Aside from the insult, he has nothing to back it up except casting aspersions.

This is an argument “by reference to authority”, essentially “I’m right because it says so right here that I’m right”.

It is a false logic that carries no weight and would disqualify you from a scored debate. But, hey, the MSM broadcasts it so it must be so.

I hold bachelor’s and advanced degrees, a city dweller, and jumped aboard the Trump Train in Dec. 2015. How am I explained, Chrissy?

Don’t get me wrong, we have more than our share of the near-brain dead here in the South. I just don’t think that is endemic to the South. I have found that to be true everywhere I go.

I personally just try to pay attention to issues that matter, compare news coverage to what ends up being the truth, and favor news sources I have found to be most reliable. That is how I landed here on FreeRepublic years ago. Our biggest problem is that way too many people do not do their due diligence on news and news sources. The elites know that and it is why they strong-arm main stream news outlets to lie and misrepresent with impunity to promote their agenda. It seems, however, that the tide is beginning to change. Maybe it’s not too late.
