MSNBC political commentator Chris Matthews said Tuesday on “Morning Joe” that debating rural voters over their support for former President Donald Trump was “like fighting terrorism.”
Matthews said, “I tell you, it’s very tough, because people that didn’t go to college have a pretty good rage on their hands. That’s what you really want in an election, is a rage. It can be black rage, or white rage, or rural rage. In this case is rural rage. They are so angry at the liberal establishment, the coastal elite. They look at people on television, they say, ‘Oh, those people on Saturday Night Live those snarling rich kids, I know who they are. They’re all trust funders. They don’t need us, they don’t have to worry about us.’ And the regular guy in the country goes, ‘There they are snarling and making fun of us again.’ And every time we make fun of Trump, we’re making fun of them.”

I didn’t watch the clip, but the written excerpts read like he sort of gets the electoral ramifications. For his next act, he should address WHY working folks, rural people, and the shrinking middle class are so pissed. Hint: it’s not because Trump stirred them up.
Of course for Matthews, screaming mobs of Democrat anti-Semites shutting down Christmas celebrations and demanding that rabbis commit suicide aren’t like “terrorists” at all. Just regular “good” guys of the left.

BS I live in a rural area, and most of my neighbors are college-educated and retired Military. Many now have their college-educated kids back living with them, with a kid or two. Married and unmarried.
Well bless Chris Matthews’ heart, it seems the coastal elites still don’t understand us common folk in flyover country. We support President Trump because he speaks for us, fights for us, and delivers results for us. While the liberal media constantly mocks and belittles us, President Trump gives us a voice. We don’t have time for their smug condescension and virtue signaling. We care about jobs, the economy, law and order, and traditional values. President Trump has proven himself a champion for all those causes. The left just can’t grasp why their radical agenda doesn’t resonate with normal Americans who love God and country. But that’s alright, we’ll just keep on winning with Trump, and they can keep crying about it on MSNBC.
