Houthi rebels in Yemen launched a barrage of drones and missiles on Tuesday morning, with the onslaught lasting 10 hours
The strikes were heading north but were intercepted by the USS Laboon and F/A-18 Super Hornets from the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group
The Laboon, in addition to destroyers Carney and Mason, have all taken down drones in recent weeks and provided help to commercial vessels

Houthi rebels supported by Iran launched a barrage of drones and missiles north towards Israel on Tuesday, with the onslaught blocked by a U.S. Navy destroyer and F/A-18 Super Hornets.
U.S. Central Command said that the attack began at 6:30am and lasted for 10 hours.
'U.S. assets, to include the USS LABOON (DDG 58) and F/A-18 Super Hornets from the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, shot down twelve one-way attack drones, three anti-ship ballistic missiles, and two land attack cruise missiles in the Southern Red Sea that were fired by the Houthis over a 10 hour period which began at approximately 6:30 a.m. (Sanaa time) on December 26,' Centcom said on X.
'There was no damage to ships in the area or reported injuries.'

Iran’s client Houthis are not being counterattacked effectively and seem to have no problem being resuppled. Eventually they will be armed with more stealthy, more lethal ordanance with better guidance systems. This technology evolves and improves constantly. If an American ship is one day hit and Americans killed, what will the Biden cabal do? Either get serious with Iran or get out.

Now, with Joe Biden and Anthony Blinken in charge, the Saudis have told the USA it won’t join the US naval escort forces, and that the USA should not intervene in the Red Sea.

The average Houthi drone costs $2000. The average US Navy anti-missile missile costs around $2,000,000.
So it seems to me that playing strictly defense here is a losing proposition even if not a single Houthi drone gets through.
“Suicide drones” and “kamikaze drones” have become common shorthand terminology for loitering munitions. Even Israel uses the term.
You may find it stupid, but the headline writer is using a well-known term.
The real question is whether or not our anti-air systems are cost-effective against drones (seeing as how an explosive drone is much cheaper than an anti-air missile).
The only “anti ship” missiles on the Laboon are Harpoons. Those missiles cost $1.4 million each to build. How much to replace, God only knows. Only 7500 Harpoons have been built. Why would we waste them so?

Why do these launch sites still exist and why do the Houthi still exist as rebel group? I’m sure our friends the Saudis would love for us to take them out. It only takes one lucky shot, and a US Naval vessel will be damaged or possibly sunk. Can you image the Arab street’s reaction to that.
There is a great scene in the movie ‘Final Countdown’ where 2 F-14 pilots are harassing two Zeros. On of the Zeros gets a good shot off and the one F-14 pilots asks the other, ‘Why are playing with these guys?’ I think the same question could be asked here. Has Valerie through Obama told Joe to stand down and let it happen.

It’s America. Money is free. They just print whatever they want, based on absolutely nothing.
These scumbags need to be put down, quickly. It isn’t so much that they are endangering Israel, or our ships, it is that they are interrupting the flow of commerce through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. These are modern Barbary pirates, and they should be dealt with in the same exact way.
I’m objecting simply because the term “suicide” is clearly the completely wrong term here... whether it’s becoming part of somebody’s vernacular or not. The term used in the tweet from CENTCOM (’attack drones’) is entirely correct, and it seems odd to me that the writer didn’t use that term in their article since it was cited.
So yeah, I’m up on my high horse today about it... maybe that comes right after also reading about some trans whack insisting on being called what he isn’t, too.
So roughly $34,000,000 over a 10 hour period.
All these conflicts and wars are spreading us thin, stretching our resources, and starting to bleed us.
If that’s the plan it seems to be working.
