A Ukrainian missile strike hit a Russian warship moored in Crimea early on Tuesday, in what appeared to be one of the most significant attacks against Moscow’s prized Black Sea Fleet in months amid Kyiv’s intensified campaign to target the Russian-occupied peninsula.
The Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement that it had destroyed the Novocherkassk, a large landing ship, in the southeastern Crimean port of Feodosia overnight. Russia’s Defense Ministry told the Tass state news agency that the ship had been damaged in an attack using “aircraft-guided missiles,” but did not say whether the vessel had been permanently disabled.
Videos of the attack that appeared to be taken by residents and were released by the Ukrainian Air Force showed a huge explosion that produced a large fireball, followed by a giant cloud of smoke and fire billowing into the night sky.

The Ukes are getting pretty good at this. You know the Iranians (Houthis) have access to just as good missiles and drones and tens of thousands more than the Ukes do. I don’t think this is just a reflection of bad Russian seamanship. It’s the new naval warfare. Cross your fingers for the 5th Fleet.
p
It was a British attack. British missiles, most likely with US targeting and Brit technicians. Dangerous stuff.
This
London/NATO are attacking the Black Sea fleet
The reality is that the technology improves daily. It is more stealthy, more accurate and more lethal. Moreover the era of the naval surface combatants is dated. Eventually and painfully this reality will become known to all. But not before thousands of brave young men will die horrible deaths
The UA used SU-27s fitted with either Storm Shadow (UK) or SCALP (French version) missiles. No NATO troops involved. This is one of many hits using these missiles - this is just the most spectacular one caught on video.
Ships can’t be hidden in port. A clandestine observer in town spots the ship, passes on the location, the ships presence is verified and a precision strike is made with missiles. All in a few hours. Dangerous times for stationary ships.
The nice part is, the ship was used as an equipment transport, and was full of Iranian drones - lots of secondary explosions
Good riddance!
Wicked secondaries...
Happy USSR Collapse Day!
Not that the Russians would want to admit, but I don’t think they have unlimited tolerance for losses such as these. If the West were to really step up manufacture and delivery of drones and missiles for uses such as these, it might...MIGHT offset the demographic disadvantage the Ukes have in front line troops. Perhaps the Ukes could achieve a better bargaining position for an inevitable settlement this way? Are there drones available to give the Ukes that could hit Russian targets far, far inside Russia proper, causing more unbearable damages to the Russians?
If Trump were suddenly placed in a position of control of the US, I would think the fastest way to stop this would be taking out the overland pipelines Russia uses to transport oil it sells to China and India (2 lines, I believe) and ramp up US oil production dramatically to force world oil prices down to where Russia cant survive economically on its chief export. Biden (Obama) could of course do this now also, but being the *sshole he is, won’t.
Thoughts?
“I don’t think this is just a reflection of bad Russian seamanship. It’s the new naval warfare. Cross your fingers for the 5th Fleet.”
We recently gained some new and different type of relatives by marriage, a year ago.
One was a young man, who had spent 2+ decades of work with US Navy surface ship.
He got some type of early retirement a few years ago.
Last year, he told us that being in/on any Navy surface ships was a potential suicide mission.
Yesterday, at another Christmas function, he reaffirmed that prediction, about an hour later, after getting a message about some endangered Russian ship from a former fellow employee.
Says the New York Times, apparently writing from the “occupied” United States.

It seems:
drones (air and under water)
and hypersonic missiles
And space-based weapons
…will change the face of war and it will be horrific.
—> I would think the fastest way to stop this
Sounds like the fastest way to expand the battlefield into western globohomo capitals too
Drones part of the solution, true
Ukraine already has some that go deep into Russia ... there have been successful attacks on Moscow
We’ll have to wait and see about Trump ... the election sure seems a long way off!
