(MEMPHIS, Tenn.) – Mechanics and related classifications at FedEx Express, the largest cargo airline in the United States, have launched an organizing drive to join the Teamsters.
“I would like to personally thank everyone in the FedEx Mechanics and Related Employees Craft or Class who has filled out and sent in a Teamsters Airline Division Authorization Card,” said Joe Ferreira, Director of the Teamsters Airline Division, in a letter to the workers. “The response has been overwhelming. You are on track to becoming unionized soon. Your livelihood will no longer be subject to arbitrary and unfair ‘management discretion.’”
The workers’ campaign to form their union grew organically, with the mechanics reaching out to the union, signing thousands of authorization cards, and taking other actions to move along the organizing process all on their own. It comes at the same time the Teamsters are organizing technicians at Delta Air Lines.

That would be "Federal Express Express"...
This message brought to you by the Department of Redundancy Department.
LOL! Those union boyz aren’t very bright. I guess UPS would be the redundant United Parcel Service Service. “Unions! Where Redundancy Is Our Middle Name”.
FedEx is separated by many divisions and the business models vary greatly. FedEx Express is one division; FedEx Ground, FedEx Freight and some other supply chain divisions.
I know there was an attempt to homogenize the business; I wonder how this will alter those plans?
FedEx home delivery is dismal at best. Outside contractors in my area, and apparently they hate their job. I’ve had packages in the woods, bushes, middle of the lawn, across town and so forth. in pouring rain they leave it several feet out from my back porch which has a small roof over it just to make sure the package gets soaked. Sometimes it take a week for them to deliver, it just rides around on their truck all day.
I can say that about (unionized) UPS, but not FedEx. The FedEx driver is the only one who always walks my packages up to the porch.
Don't get me started on USPS.
Looks like this is about aircraft mechanics and aviation technicians. Not sure it includes delivery drivers.
