Firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene claims she received an unwelcome Christmas Day surprise — cops getting called to her home as part of a fake 911 “swatting” harassment of her.
Greene (R-Ga.) didn’t divulge many details of the ordeal but said she has been “swatted” on numerous occasions since getting elected to Congress in 2020.
“I was just swatted. This is like the 8th time,” Greene posted on X. “On Christmas with my family here. My local police are the GREATEST and shouldn’t have to deal with this.

From the several reports here on FR and in the news, seems a bit of an epidemic of swatting around the US. Need to make serious crime with 10+ years for conviction, even life sentence if someone hurt.

Would be counter productive. Police won’t investigate brown shirt leftists. Prosecutors won’t prosecute them. And Merrick Garland would find a way to stretch the law to add charges to the J6 defendants.
You’d either have to enact a federal law which would mean micromanaging local law enforcement everywhere, a project dear to Dems’ hearts, or enact state and local laws in a myriad of jurisdictions, which would take forever and be uneven.
Swat teams might try calling the residence being “swatted” repeatedly to verify whether or not there’s a real situation, and also tracing the pranksters’ phones and landing on them like a ton of bricks for a proper b!tch-slapping and charges.

What is that, a misdemeanor? Not even charged or if. Not seriously prosecuted or sentenced?

Everyone claims to be against leftists and their “swatting,” but almost most no one identifies the militarized, Seal Team Six in short-pants police forces which make it possible.
It should be a life sentence just for making the 911 call. If anyone gets hurt in the slightest way, the punishment should be the death penalty.
Wouldn’t it also be considered an act of terrorism? Isn’t swatting intended to terrorize the target?
They spy on literally EVERYONE and can track down thousands of people who so much as thought about attending Trump’s rally on Jan 6th... but they can’t find who is doing this?
They’re not white supremacists, so it’s not terrorism.
