It gives me no joy to declare Vladimir Putin the geopolitical winner of the year. His position looks immeasurably stronger than a year ago. Kyiv’s much-vaunted counteroffensive has stalled; Mr. Putin’s economy has withstood Western sanctions; European resolve is fading; American support is fracturing. He took a wholly innocent and honorable Wall Street Journal reporter prisoner and will doubtless be rewarded for this piracy with another villain-for-hostage swap.

The US economy is winner of the year? Is this guy smoking crack?
How can Putin be a winner when he’s still slogged down in a country he should have beaten in week? Vietnam?
Putin can keep the “honorable” reporter. There ain’t no such thing.
I’m celebrating the good economic news with a 25 dollar hamburger at some crappy pub. Wash it down with a 4 dollar coke.
Yay! Economy wins! Biden is reelected! Says the WSJ.
WSJ = globalist POSs.
Kazan. . . .Kazan. . . . Ding! - the penny finally drops . . . ..Why did it take so long? . . .
Old Tatar city on the lower Volga, Conquered by Ivan the Terrible in 1552.. Establishing a paradigm for Muskovite foreign policy that continues to this day.
So, is that birthplace? Home today? Or just chosen as a tribute to Muskovite imperialism?
Friend took some company for dinner to a fine restaurant. The hamburger cost 35 dollars! He could not believe it. Wanted one but refrained due to the price.
How can I get in on that US economy he speaks of?
Next year it will be Trump, MAGA and the Constitution.
It was predicted a recession at least all year, but it never happened. Predicting the worst and not having it is positive.
When this war is over and Russia keeps every inch of annexed territory, I'm going to do the equivalent of rub your face between a pair of Biden's adult diapers.
Become a corrupt member of Congress.
the share holders of the businesses making huge profits from inflated prices and shrinkflation.
So it’s true then? I guess I hit a nerve there.
Too Big to Fail...
Yep, Russia did JUST FINE economically in 2023, at least according to Western Experts like the World Bank and IMF.
The US economy did JUST FINE economically too, with Europe being reduced to US Colonies via their governments following US demand, plus the US neutralizing their pipelines to Russia and otherwise decoupling from Russia.
Europe itself, a basket case, for exactly the above reasons.
A soft landing perhaps.
The baltic dry index turned up in August.
Its been going up steadily since. It predicts future index growth because it predicts worldwide shipping.
Same idea as using trains to predict future growth. Falling number of rolling stock predicts falling economy. rising train rolling stock predicts rising economy.
Baltic dry index turns up before rail shipping does.
Not Zelensky? He’s probably made more money (and yachts) than Putin.
