Biden Military Nominee Celebrated NATO’s ‘Demand’ For ‘Diversity’ And ‘Inclusion’

A high-ranking Marine Corps Reserve official nominated by President Joe Biden previously celebrated a NATO agency’s embrace of neo-Marxist ideology.

Promoted by Biden to the rank of major general on Friday, then-Brig. Gen. Douglas K. Clark penned an article published by the NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC), touting the organization’s embrace of “diversity” and “inclusion,” concepts often used by leftists to justify the dismissal of a merit-based system in favor of one that makes personnel decisions based upon characteristics such as race. Clark previously served as JWC’s deputy commander and chief of staff from 2020-2022 and is currently the commanding general of the 4th Marine Division in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In his article on JWC’s “organizational culture,” Clark commended the organization for “embracing diversity as one of [its] leadership goals” and further claimed he was “proud” the JWC launched a “human capital-focused programme built upon [its] commitment to diversity and inclusion.” “This is because people truly are our most important asset in meeting the JWC’s goals and objectives,” Clark wrote.

But the brigadier general didn’t stop there. In the subsequent paragraphs, Clark wrote that “commonalities and differences” are what “enable the growth of any organization” and opined that the current security climate doesn’t demonstrate the JWC’s “need” for diversity but its “demand” for it.

“In this environment, we do not need diversity. We demand it!” Clark wrote. “‘Together! We make NATO better!’, the JWC’s maxim, is exactly about our emphasis on diversity. Because this is how we will meet NATO’s evolving requirements, holding on to curiosity, innovation, and cooperation.”

Looks like a fatso. The Marines have cranked out a large class of woke and incompetent generals hell bent on destroying the USMC.

No, not woke and not gay, but a politician not a war fighter. He reeks of your typical Marine Corps O6 and above. His awards say he served in country and MAY have once been a war fighter, or not. Ribbons only tell a small part of their story. But Marine Officers quickly turn from being lions to lambs for an eagle or a star. They become arrogant and would destroy anyone if it would further their career. The Corps needs fewer officers and more hard nosed SNCO's.

I knew of a senior Marine Officer who pandered constantly to the Montford Point Marines. Those men deserved recognition as part of the greatest generation that won a war and in this case broke down racial barriers. But the Colonel did not give two $hits about those men it was one photo op after another. Every time there was a command or base function of any type he had Montford Point Marines there along with the press. It worked for his career. Pandering to gays and bashing whites will get you promoted because the Lambs run the Corps once more. (For the record, I spent 12 years in the Suck, and spent nearly a decade with them as a Sailor and later a Contractor). I love Marines, they are a sight to behold in a war. But I despise the Corps, it is not your Grandfathers Corps and Chesty would have been forced to resign his commission in today's DEI Marine Corps.

IMHO, diversity in ideas and thought, in some cases skill sets, is a good thing.

But of course that’s not what they are talking about.

Diversity in modern language means quota’s for blacks, women, Latino’s, maybe even homos.

In that context, it only means hiring lesser qualified (based on merit) in order to meet some arbitrary number of recruits / hires, promotions, folks selected for advanced training, or even awards etc.

Diversity today means minimum qualifications, maybe even waivers for some, while others that exceed the qualifications by a wide margin get passed over because they are the wrong sex (male) or race (white or Asian). In that context, diversity has no benefit organizationally.

These guys will say anything to get promoted.

They are smart enough to know what the flavor of the day is.

If politically minded like this, it sort of makes you worry about the quality of decisions they make.
