Turley: January 6 Wasn’t Insurrection or Rebellion — 14th Amendment Doesn’t Apply
Breitbart ^ | 12/22/2023 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 12/22/2023 6:47:59 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

Thursday on FNC’s “The Story,” network contributor Jonathan Turley questioned the merits of the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to bar former President Donald Trump from the 2024 primary election ballot.

According to Turley, the 14th Amendment didn’t apply because January 6 was a riot, not an insurrection.

“It’s nonsense,” he said. “I mean, first of all, there’s really interesting analogies to go to Bush v. Gore, you know, a little over 20 years ago, they had another 4-3 decision by another state Supreme Court. And what the court did is they were uncomfortable with the ambiguous standards being used by Florida. This is even more so. When I read the 14th Amendment, I see the words insurrection or rebellion. This was neither. This was a riot. Most people in the public can see it that way. But it’s also not clear that this applies to the office of the presidency. They go through and they enumerate offices that notably does not include the presidency. So there’s a number of elements here that could result in this being overturned, as I expected, will be.”

The Colorado Supreme Court majority opinion gives aid and comfort to the domestic and foreign enemies of the United States.

Understanding Types of Government
Thought Co. ^ | June 10, 2022 | Robert Longley
FR Posted on 11/3/2022, 10:44:40 AM by frnewsjunkie

Key Takeaways: Republic vs. Democracy Republics and democracies both provide a political system in which citizens are represented by elected officials who are sworn to protect their interests.

<><>In a pure democracy, laws are made directly by the voting majority leaving the rights of the minority largely unprotected.

<><>In a republic, laws are made by representatives chosen by the people and must comply with a constitution that specifically protects the rights of the minority from the will of the majority.

The United States, while basically a republic, is best described as a “representative democracy.” In a republic, an official set of fundamental laws, like the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, prohibits the government from limiting or taking away certain “inalienable” rights of the people, even if that government was freely chosen by a majority of the people. In a pure democracy, the voting majority has almost limitless power over the minority.

The United States, like most modern nations, is neither a pure republic nor a pure democracy. Instead, it is a hybrid democratic republic.

The main difference between a democracy and a republic is the extent to which the people control the process of making laws under each form of government.

J6 Footage Shows Camera Rolling as Pelosi Made Her ‘Insurrection’ Exit
American Greatness ^ | 1 Jun, 2023 | Julie Kelly
FR Posted on 6/2/2023, 4:32:40 AM by MtnClimber

Unseen footage released today by Just the News founder John Solomon shows a “Hollywood movie set” escape for Pelosi and her filmmaker daughter.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) began January 6, 2021, by mugging for the cameras—more specifically, a camera operated by her filmmaker daughter, Alexandra Pelosi, who just happened to record every moment of her mother’s movements on what would become one of the most infamous days in American history.

As a clearly tense Pelosi prepared to convene the joint session of Congress during which Republican members of the House and Senate planned to debate the Electoral College outcome in six states—Pelosi also is seen conducting a caucus video conference that morning criticizing Republican plans to delay certification—her chief of staff warned that President Trump might go to the Capitol following his noon speech at the Ellipse. “I hope he comes, I’m gonna punch him out,” she told Terry McCullough.

Turning toward her daughter’s camera, Pelosi continued her tirade. “I’ve been waiting for this, for trespassing on Capitol grounds. I’m gonna punch him out, I’m gonna go to jail, and I’m gonna be happy.”

Less than two hours later, members of Congress, including Pelosi, were evacuated when the building was breached shortly after 2 p.m. Alexandra Pelosi later told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour the events of January 6 “offended her [mother] in her soul.”

But if Pelosi’s soul was indeed offended, unseen footage released today by Just the News founder John Solomon suggests otherwise. Pelosi is seen cooly walking through the evacuation route on her way to a secure location at Fort McNair in Washington—with Alexandra just a few steps ahead, walking backwards, to capture the moment.

Far from being under mortal threat by selfie-taking Americans in the Rotunda above, Pelosi is surrounded by her security detail as she is led to a chauffeured vehicle. Her daughter also traveled with her mother to the Army base located two miles from the Capitol.

An insurrection as mentioned in the 14A has to be declared by a relevant authority. The Insurrection Act of 1807 gives the president that power.

It’s nonsensical to think that a city or state has that power. But then again, when has common sense stopped the Democrats from doing something?

Investigators Release Damning Report Showing
Pelosi Orchestrated Security Breakdown on Jan 6
en-volve.com/ ^ | 6/24/2022
FR Posted on 6/25/2022, 7:36:44 AM by bitt

According to a preliminary report made public by investigators, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is largely to blame for the security lapse at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. While the Capitol Police were understaffed, Pelosi’s House Sergeant at Arms repeatedly turned down requests from the Pentagon for National Guard assistance, and officers were ill-equipped and undertrained.

It’s almost as if she wanted the entire thing to happen…

The full report from Republican investigators Reps. Jim Banks and Rodney Davis won’t be made public for a few weeks, but Banks and Davis said their decision to do so was motivated by the Jan. 6 Committee’s hyper-partisan attempt to present a “slanted viewpoint as if it were impartial fact” and that it “will help Americans understand the extent of the Committee’s misrepresentations and omissions.”

“The Committee has lied and made numerous unsupported and disputed claims that have been thoughtlessly parroted by their media and ‘fact-checking’ allies,” said Banks and Davis.

The Federalist report: No Republican-appointed members serve on the committee, and no minority rights have been granted or observed by the committee. Those breaches of House rules have led Administration Committee ranking member Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Ill., to announce there will be an investigation of the J6 Committee itself once Republicans take control of the House, as they are expected to do following the November elections.

Despite the J6 Committee’s attempts to blame the Capitol riot on former President Donald Trump and election integrity supporters, the GOP members found that Pelosi, who is responsible for Capitol security according to House rules and has led the Democrat majority for years, repeatedly failed to implement necessary improvements to the Capitol’s security system.

“This inaction left the Capitol unnecessarily vulnerable,” Banks and Davis noted.

According to the Insurrection Act of 1807, the President can call an insurrection.

(Calling an insurrection allows him certain powers, such as federalizing the national guard.)

Did he?

Did Donald Trump call an insurrection on himself?

Let me point out that within three years of the end of the Civil War, President Andrew Johnson issued a full and unconditional pardon to all the Confederates. Have the sob’s in the Democrapic Party even thought of being so generous?

The principle of reconciliation was laid out by President Lincoln in the Second Inaugural (in broad terms) and in his proposal to Congress that, except for the Confederates who mistreated POWs, there should be reconciliation after the war.

The same principle was expressed by General U.S. Grant at Appomattox, in the terms of surrender of Lee’s army; and, by General William Tecumseh Sherman, in the terms of surrender of Johnston’s army.

But the Democraps don’t believe in reconciliation. They are motivated by hatred and envy. They reveal in their harsh treatment of Trump and others, what they will do to the rest of us should they consolidate power.

If this wasn’t an insurrection (it wasn’t), then will the J6 political prisoners be released?
Will there be consequences for the false imprisonment of American citizens by their own government?
Will there be a national apology and admission of guilt?
Will there be financial compensation for these victims?
Time to get some answers.
Trump 2024 like your life depends on it, because it does.

The left are now trotting out the following, hoping to prove Trump tried to influence the election

“Trump recorded pressuring Wayne County canvassers not to certify 2020 vote”

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2023/12/21/donald-trump-recorded-pressuring-wayne-canvassers-not-to-certify-2020-vote-michigan/72004514007/

Note though in the article that it was ronna that made the offer, but from what I understand, it’s not illegal to ask jurors not to certify when it is suspected that there may be fraud invovled in the election.

Posted as a heads up for where the .eft are headed in their false accusations against Trump.

[[Will there be consequences for the false imprisonment of American citizens by their own government?]]

Hopefully they will get to sue for millions since their lives have been ruined now for simply walking onto Capitol grounds for peaceful protest while leftists have repeatedly taken over Capitol buildings and were never arrested and imprisoned

Yes,it was a setup. If 10,000 National Guard troops had been there *nobody*...not even the government plants on scene...would have dropped a chewing gum wrapper, let alone tresspassed...or worse.

Call her in...get her under oath...and ask her about DJT's offer of 10,000 troops. And just before doing so remind her that she's under oath.

Biden is not done, yet. This is even more astonishing. Every air passenger who
flew into the DC area on or about J6 is being subjected to Biden govt surveillance.

“On Fox News, Sonya LaBosco, Biden’s Director of the Air Marshals National Council said Air Marshals are surreptitously following Americans who flew into the DC area “around” Jan 6, 2021.

Vengeful Biden’s TSA has now ordered Air Marshals (who are DOT employes w/ no L/E duties):
<><>to follow J6 people who are not under any type of criminal investigation –
<><>they haven’t committed a crime,
<><>there is no evidence their J6 attendance was illegal,
<><>now three years later Biden insists the govt must surveil them;
<><>Biden’s govt is spying on innocents citizens merely flying to DC on J6.

There have been several terms thrown around by the left, one being “seditious acts” and another being something that is similar- yet none of the protestors have been convicted of anything close to what they were charged with that i know of? I think the c.osest they came to it was for the founder of the proud boys when they convicted him falsely of “seditious conspiracy”, but was acquitted of that charge and convicted of lesser charges but still given 22 years in prison

No, and they will never think of that generosity... Remember, Andrew Johnson was himself a Democrat. Today’s democrats are more similar to Marxists than the democrats of post-Civil War America.
