An insurrection as mentioned in the 14A has to be declared by a relevant authority. The Insurrection Act of 1807 gives the president that power.

It’s nonsensical to think that a city or state has that power. But then again, when has common sense stopped the Democrats from doing something?

We’ll see if SCOTUS agrees. In fact,we’ll see if SCOTUS even takes the case.

According to the Insurrection Act of 1807, the President can call an insurrection.

(Calling an insurrection allows him certain powers, such as federalizing the national guard.)

Did he?

Did Donald Trump call an insurrection on himself?

Let me point out that within three years of the end of the Civil War, President Andrew Johnson issued a full and unconditional pardon to all the Confederates. Have the sob’s in the Democrapic Party even thought of being so generous?

The principle of reconciliation was laid out by President Lincoln in the Second Inaugural (in broad terms) and in his proposal to Congress that, except for the Confederates who mistreated POWs, there should be reconciliation after the war.

The same principle was expressed by General U.S. Grant at Appomattox, in the terms of surrender of Lee’s army; and, by General William Tecumseh Sherman, in the terms of surrender of Johnston’s army.

But the Democraps don’t believe in reconciliation. They are motivated by hatred and envy. They reveal in their harsh treatment of Trump and others, what they will do to the rest of us should they consolidate power.

If this wasn’t an insurrection (it wasn’t), then will the J6 political prisoners be released?
Will there be consequences for the false imprisonment of American citizens by their own government?
Will there be a national apology and admission of guilt?
Will there be financial compensation for these victims?
Time to get some answers.
Trump 2024 like your life depends on it, because it does.

The left are now trotting out the following, hoping to prove Trump tried to influence the election

“Trump recorded pressuring Wayne County canvassers not to certify 2020 vote”

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2023/12/21/donald-trump-recorded-pressuring-wayne-canvassers-not-to-certify-2020-vote-michigan/72004514007/

Note though in the article that it was ronna that made the offer, but from what I understand, it’s not illegal to ask jurors not to certify when it is suspected that there may be fraud invovled in the election.

Posted as a heads up for where the .eft are headed in their false accusations against Trump.

They can forget about this to the extent that no one even remembers it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1971_May_Day_protests

Yet pretend that the little demonstration turned mini-riot on Jan 6 was the biggest thing since the Civil War.

The 14th Amendment's insurrection clause is no longer an issue anyway. The 14th Amendment specifically gave Congress the authority to nullify the insurrection clause later with a supermajority, which Congress did with the 1872 Amnesty Act.

Using the 14th Amendment's insurrection clause against Trump is the equivalent of trying to today using the 18th Amendment to put someone in prison for selling liquor, even though we all know the 18th was repealed by the 21st Amendment.

Speaking of Jan.6th, just what the hell is this?

"Oath and Honor: A Memoir and a Warning by Liz Cheney. A gripping first-hand account of the January 6th, 2021, insurrection from inside the halls of Congress, from origins to aftermath, as Donald Trump and his enablers betrayed the American people and the Constitution—by the House Republican leader who dared to stand up to it."

What is this broads mental malfunction? Did Trump tell her she has a fat ass or something?

This goes beyond TDS, this is fullblown straight jacket delusional insanity. Before even opening the book, the books description is utter BS!

If a public figure like Rudy Giuliani can be sued to the point of bankruptcy, they why can't Trump sue idiots like this? Trump led an insurrection? Prove it bitch.

Meanwhile the REAL insurrection - the Russia collusion hoax - is COMPLETELY IGNORED!!!!!

This was neither. This was a riot.

It was neither a riot as well. It was a guided tour by capital police while the FBI and Antifa attacked cops outside while first making sure it was caught all on video.

I had not heard the word used for 60 years. Then in one day, wordsmiths were writing it inside my eyelids and harping it on a loop in my ears.

J6 was a planned counterintelligence operation orchestrated by our own government. Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff were becoming Junior G-Men acting as CIA agents. The Judiciary doesn't have the stomach to allow discovery in anything election related. Very sad and terminal for our liberties.

It does if the Dems and their media allies say it does.

The public is far too stupid and uninterested to put up a fuss.

Of course it wasn't. Anybody with a functioning brain knows that. The honest acknowledge it.

The protest was dubbed a "riot", "insurrection", and "rebellion" by Democrat Party operatives and their propaganda. These words were dutifully parrotted by their propaganda machine, aka the Newsmedia, and picked up by the intellectually and morally lazy.

Do not use these words.

It was a peaceful protest. The Constitution recognizes the right of the People to peaceably assemble as a fundamental, inalienable right, granted by God. That's exactly what these US citizens did on January 6.

also this

Ed Meese has some analysis on 14:3 and claims it was repealed by two legislative acts.

But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove
such a disability.10
The last sentence in Section 3 giving Congress the authority to
“remove” the disability imposed by the amendment is unique. While seven
amendments have language giving Congress the “power to enforce” each
amendment “by appropriate legislation,” only the Fourteenth Amendment
has language giving Congress the power to specifically void the provisions

Amnesty Acts of 1872 and 1898. Four years after the Fourteenth
Amendment’s ratification, Congress exercised its power under Section 3
and passed the Amnesty Act of 1872 with the required two-thirds vote in
each House.15 The Act provided
