There seems to be some who post 10 to 20 articles each day TO GET NOTICED. Do any of them contribute?
I bet contributions would increase if a posting of “To save our costs, this site will shut down 2 days a week”. OR NOT!

I didn't write the FR software -- all honor and glory to JohnRob for that. But I have been thinking about whether it would be possible to ...

There are some users who abuse this site, posting many threads daily but never contributing to the ensuing conversation. I don't know if they contribute monetarily, of course. But it's clear they're only here for the clicks to their own sites.

Would it be possible to collect thread data in such a way that a user who posts threads pointing to a blog, etc. and doesn't comment on their own thread, could be "throttled", like they can't post more than one such thread per day, and more than that get rejected until they make a donation to FR?

I suspect that this could generate some additional donations; or if it didn't, then at least there would be a few less clickbait blogpimp threads taking up bandwidth.

I know, software feature ideas are a dime a dozen. I'd offer to help write the code, although I'm mainly a C, Bash, and HTML guy, not Perl or Python or whatever FR is written in.

Just thinking out loud. I'm monthly for a small amount, and the freeloaders and blogpimps sometimes get to me.

Thanks Jim and John and Chris, for the best forum website in the world. Thank you for all your hard work, Merry Christmas and God Bless you all!

hi Mr. Robinson. i was trying to contribute tonight, and it’s giving me a card declined error. i was looking at the address and the one field with country says ‘california’ and then ‘non-us.’ when i try to switch it it says ‘us’ but then doesn’t give me a state. i’ll try it again tommorrow. maybe it’s a browser glitch. mine is pretty old.

Hi Chris! Is Jim OK? He hasn’t posted in a while and I just want to check.

I hope and pray you’re *all* doing well.

Please pray for me to stop the coughing and be cured since I now have COVID. On the rapid test at first the LPN said I only had a cold, but the next day all the covid crap was outside my door.

So be warned that the next COVID appears to be a cold with a runny nose and a sweaty night.
