Add to this, Trump rallies his core base, but alienates others. He insults Republican governors, demands fealty, and plays the narcissist drama queen martyr. And supporters? Consider here on FR as an example, several Freepers miss no opportunity to repeatedly trash DeSantis, prop up illegible Ramaswamy or Haley who stand absolutely zero chance against Trump, and insult anyone and everyone in the process. Trump keeps his core support but no one else.
And now this unsurprising poll. If 25% skip Trump, don't vote, maybe a few independents even vote for a Democrat, the setup is a clear Trump defeat. No way Trump and supporters can undo the damage of insults and name calling of Republicans.
End result, Democrats, with Trump and Trump supporter's help, is setting up a landslide Trump loss.
Honestly, thats a lot of whining for one posted comment. Suggest you find a quiet place to decompress...
Sounds like a quarter of them were seminar "Trump supporters."
OMG! That’s like almost half!
Convicted of what? The use of Section III of the 14th Amendment isn’t going to work. It applies to insurrection, and no one, including Trump and all of the J6 defendants, has been charged with insurrection.
This is a reality check. Democrats engineer 24x7 coverage for Trump to lock out viable Republican challengers. Consider how DeSantis trounced Newsom. Trump alienates Republican leaders like Governor Reynolds and anyone that holds off or doesn’t support him. And Trump supporters, like here on FR, viciously attack anyone even remotely questioning Trump and his chance of winning, his history, or whatever. Trump can thank Democrats and the bullying but the end result is a fractured party, uneven support, and likely a loss against even the weakest Democrat. Take each of those points, what do you meaningfully disagree with or have alternative view?
You crack me up.
If convicted of a fake crime lots of fake republicans say they won’t for him but instead for communists
Well too bad for them. He's the nominee.
The Colorado move is theatrics. First, the 14th amendment doesn’t say anything about conviction, it’s ambiguous. Second, the court stayed their ruling so it is not even applicable. They get the headlines, Trump gets 24x7 coverage, Democrats and Trump win. For now. Come November 2024, the setup is complete and Trump loses. That’s Trump 4D chess played by Democrats.
“”””Almost a quarter of former President Donald Trump’s supporters said he should not become the Republican presidential nominee in 2024 if he is convicted of a crime”””
It would be more correct to say the following:
Almost a quarter of those who voted for George W Bush, John McCain, and Mitt Romney said that Trump should not become the Republican presidential nominee in 2024 if he is convicted of a crime.
You will get to tell us all how wrong we were in December of 2024.
I for one will feel chastised. :)
i do think it’s best to see if anything of moment is presented before drawing final conclusions-— although it feels like a put-up job all the way around.
Seriously, results matter.
Attempting to use reason and logic with True Believers is futile.
Insulting Republicans? I wasn’t aware that Republican politicians were doing a good job.
Without MAGA, the party is dead. The party has been dead for decades. Your view is much like the dead republican party.
It isn’t about Trump Reno, it’s about the republican party. Feel free to fight for the presidential win as if that matters. Congress should be the number one concern.
Parse that however you want, but I’m not alone as a 2016 and 2020 Trump supporter that has move on and now support another candidate. I liked Trump but recognize the failings, the overturned E.O., the incomplete wall, no deportations, etc. Trump failed to negotiate and legislate, repeatedly picked bad people to work for him, talked big, but beyond three supreme court justices, which many here even criticize, he’s legacy is gone. I no longer support Trump because I can’t see a second term being any different, just a fleeting blip in history, nothing lasting. Even now, if you listen, he talks of only 200 more miles to finish the wall as if that will secure the border. Talk about lowered expectations.
Here is a reality check. You're either going to vote Trump or you will vote for communist. I don't get why the binary thinkers here can't wrap their minds around that.
Check out the methodology...
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
