Big Apple Mayor Eric Adams has kicked open the door to tax hikes and city layoffs — blaming the Biden administration for the threatened wallops to taxpayer wallets.

Adams has said his administration is struggling to close New York City’s expected $7 billion budget gap next year given whopping migrant costs — and added Sunday that the federal government has been AWOL in terms of financially helping with what is a nationally created problem.

Just make sure you set aside a wad of money to care for Joe Pedeaux’s Foreign Invader Guyz (FIGs). They aren’t acclimatized for this weather yet. They need to stay inside drinking warm beer and watching da View.

I live upstate NY. The new property tax assessment on my house just doubled according to the notice the city sent me. (I intend to appeal) Everything is more expensive now.

Adams has kicked open the door to tax hikes and city layoffs

Only one of these will work, and he will choose the other.

Dems who vote Dem again and again. What exactly do they think they are being kind or generous to the “little guy” and the downtrodden about?

Their own lives and those of their families are ruined by inflation, layoffs, illegals costing a fortune, dangerous violent criminals let out without bail or full prison terms and now higher taxes again.

Background: Republicans have not held a majority of New York US House seats since 1965. The Democrats’ have near-total domination of local elections in New York City, which contains 13 of the state’s 26 districts.

New York City has 68% registered Democrats.

Yeah, big tax hikes ALWAYS bring in lots more money. Just double the taxes and you get double the money. Why, Adams could quadruple the NYC tax rate and QUADRUPLE his tax haul.

Why don't they just quit pussyfooting around and go for a 100% tax rate? That'll take every last red cent those horrible capitalists have and they would not be able to oppress people any longer. We will have achieved Nirvana!

No I live far away in western NY. My late uncle lived down that way though (New Rochel in Westchester co) and I would visit him occasionally. The price of real estate is crazy down there.

‘Everything’s on the table’

Except the one thing that would actually fix the problem: Throw the Invaders out of the country.

7 billion dollars divided by 8 million people in New York City, is over $800 per person in new taxes ,just to balance his budget. That’s got to be a hefty tax increase, on top of the high taxes already levied by N.Y.C.

Of course they could look to trim spending; not sure how much leeway is there, what with union contracts, mandatory pension payouts, bonded indebtedness, or other items that just can’t be cut at the present time.

Best guess is that we will all pay, all of us, in the form of a federal bailout and subsidy, such as grappling with the costs of illegal aliens.

If the whiny bitch had even the balls the size of mustard seeds, he would just tell the Feds that the illegals were their problem and they had better send troops and aid workers to take care of them.
