I really think the whole thing is an illusion. We don’t have anything like an actual government. We have powerful people in back rooms somewhere working to get what they want. It’s a big club, and you’re not in it.
Likewise, in the corporate world, the whole “Bud Light” type of disaster is a demonstration that the people “running the show” don’t know how to run the show. Somebody, somewhere, in some back room just managed to get something done. That sort of person is never held responsible.

America as founded died a century ago, and those of us who want it back are being targeted by the government and labeled fringe by the rest of the country. Imagine.
The real work of legislation is done by staff, who coordinate with donors and lobbyists.
And the staff are typically supplied to new incoming Congress-criters by party leadership.
And how are party leaders selected? By who can bring in the most donor money.

I was listening to some classic Rush from January 22, 2009. Hussein was selected, immaculated, but didn’t know Jack Squat without his teleprompter. Whitehouse Counsel Greg Craig had to explain to Hussein and the world what Hussein was doing and signing.
A little later Robert Re-e-e-eich announced that most of the so-called stimulus $$$ would go to ANYONE but white males. Further proof that Hussein and his minions are in charge today.
