My searching tirelessly for peace is hardly derangement, rather it’s your cheering for war that shows a mental imbalance.
I support Ukraine defending their country against Putin's invasion.
But if you insist that you want to talk about mental imbalance then here you go...
God bless The Putin!

You mean exactly like Kentucky:
Kentucky’s budget relies on federal money more than most states, study finds

No. The median income in Ukraine is less than $5,000 annually.

The United States is paying for Ukrainian weapons, pensions, theft, etc.

And of course ukraine is the single most corrupt nation in the world.

If the EU marries Ukraine, they’d better have a solid pre-nuptial agreement.

Your opinion doesn't change the fact:
Nearly 40 percent of Kentucky’s state budget is federal funding from Washington,

Hummm..... I know this isn't apples to apples but before sneering at Russian interest rate problems we need to acknowledge that Americans are paying high interest rates on certain credit cards:

- First PREMIER Bank Mastercard APR on Purchases - 36%
- Master Card Gold - 21.24%
- Hope Credit Union Platinum Visa - 4.99% intro for 6 months, 18% after that.

There were a lot of Union soldiers during the Civil War who were not so sure....

“the Russians are screwed if world (oil) price drops”

That is true - Russian Government revenue is more dependent on oil than that of Saudi Arabia.

American production is increasing (2023 is the highest year ever, and November 2023 was the highest month ever), but global supply and demand shift by much larger amounts, and drive price changes more day to day, and month to month.

It would take years for America to produce another 5 million barrels per day, to replace what Russia now exports, but American production is a growing factor in world oil price.

The oil market is characterized by boom and bust cycles, and Russia is among the most vulnerable to a crash in prices. Some argue that that is what caused the collapse of the Soviet Union.

“High interest rates are very helpful for seniors with their $$$$ in CDs and MMs”

Which most Russian seniors do not.

They are left paying higher prices for food and essentials on fixed incomes.

If pensions are impacted by the developing liquidity crisis in the Russian National Wealth Fund, conditions like just after the Soviet Union’s collapse could re-emerge.

Russia could withdraw in peace anytime they want. They insist on war.

Joe Blogs (YouTube) did a piece about the dislocation in the Russian property market in just the last years, because of interest rates and Government subsidized loans.

New home prices are much higher than used, because low rate subsidized loans can be used for new homes. The day the loan closes, the house becomes used, the market price drops 40%, and the owner is instantly underwater with negative equity.

Individuals have rushed into new home buying under the Government programs (China much?), stimulating economic activity/GDP in the short term. There is a significant and growing segment of the Russia population who spend 80% or more of their income on their mortgage, for loans that exceed the market value.

This bubble has developed rapidly in the Russian property market. Rising interest rates increase the disparity in new/used home prices, and make the risk and potential severity of a crash greater.

Take them home to Mother Russia, along with the kidnapped Ukrainian kids, toilets and washing machines.
