This was an astute political move by Johnson. The OP here did not tell us that the FISA authorization is only temporary, until April 15th, 2024. This will give the House time to revise section 702 in the next year and construct a stand-alone bill.

But the FR ultracrepidarians leap to see who can win the Snark Olympics on the thread. Sad. And these people vote, (or say they do).

Correct. Trump had the greatest chance to end it. Naturally, he chose to side with the deep state.

I was just reminded of something interesting posted on November 19th, 2019.

Phones were present.

Perhaps check to see if your rep is compromised, OR INSTEAD wants to use FISA against the traitors...

How can Congress “authorize” something they have no power to authorize?

Both conservatives and leftists oppose it for the same reasons.

Well Conservatives oppose it because it has been used against a sitting President and too many Conservatives!

Leftists oppose it because once Trump is reelected, they do not want Trump to use it to do to them, what they did to him!!

It appears that they’re done with Americans and America, too

I hate to say it, but Judges authorized the actions and if illegal who has been arrested and prosecuted? No one, so unfortunately the powers to be believe that these actions are illegal. This is exactly the issue, don’t hate the player, hate the game our Congress created! Bush really screwed this country with the Patriot Act!

“I’m really done with the Republican Party.”

You mean.... the feckless Uniparty? They’re consistent, if nothing else.
