As a side note: I can't shake the feeling Casey is more gung ho on this run than Ron is.....
I agree pure ignorance.
“ What DeSantis said was, of course, wrong. But I highly doubt she intended to encourage fraud; she obviously…”
Yeah. She’s just a girl. What does she know?
She’s the wife of a governor and she is also the wife of a presidential candidate speaking on behalf of the candidate as a campaign staffer
Why would anyone try to give her an excuse.
I’m a girl so I don’t get the if she’s pretty she can do and say anything she’s not guilty
How outrageous
When speaking to a national audience about the electioneering and caucus’, one better speak carefully. She doesn’t get a pass.
“ She simply misunderstood the process for the Iowa Caucus.”
Oh. Ok. She’s on Fox News prime time but she’s ok because she doesn’t know what stage hell she’s talking about
What is this?!
Without equivocation, she directed and encouraged unqualified voters to commit felony voter fraud.
But I highly doubt she intended to encourage fraud;“
Wrong
My thought is he was pushed into this and he was too weak to resist. I can hear them now telling him that Trump will be ruined by the lawfare, maybe in jail even, and he thought there was an open path and his wife must have been pushing him really hard.
His bad judgement/weakness/back stabbing have made him un-Presidential...although those qualities are frequently an asset for most politicians. What he isn’t is shrewd.
He’s done some good things in Florida from what I know - friends who live there are happy.
This is the DeSantis campaign
“Moms and grammas come and commit voter fraud” run by the woman in his life.
We haven’t seen desperation like this a desperate public figure since Harry got carted off by Meghan
What is he doing?!
“She simply misunderstood the process for the Iowa Caucus.”
School children are taught the process for the Iowa Caucus.
Ya know—bunch of Iowa folks meet in their local precincts and decide who they want to nominate....
not....
Everybody in the US converges on the place and decides who they want to nominate....
That’s nonsense. How could anyone not consciously know that you need to be a resident of the state in order to participate in their caucus? Of course, Democrats don’t care, but to say Casey didn’t understand this is completely ridiculous.
I agree with all of your comments.
This is Greek strategy stuff—if he could have stayed in FL and done an outstanding job there for a few more years he could have been a future President.
Now he is a laughing-stock—and dare not show his face in Iowa again...
It is not at alĺ unusual for caucus locations to allow brief speaking by representatives from various campaigns whether or not they are local participants. Candidates themselves frequently make an appearance and speak. Seems like no way to tell if Mrs. DeSantis meant that or not.
DeSanis will win the Iowa Carcass.
Bet the rent.
I think if she did some shopping around she could find a BIGGER cross. Lindell’s isn’t even that big. Or mine.
MAYBE an IOWA tractor???
Casey DeSantis, meet Douglass Mackey.
To many of us a caucus is just another campaign routine. Many of us go to campaign rallies, across state lines to support a candidate. Other than primary ballots and actual election day ballots, everything else is campaigning.
I support Casey and her husband. They are great for Florida in many ways.
“she obviously spoke in ignorance.”
Yes. Definitely not ready for prime time.
This is silly. Out of state people may participate in the caucus. They just can’t vote.
Yes, thousands of out of state supporters flood the state with door knocking and help with campaigns. Often out of state supporters will even stand and give a speech in support of their candidate during the caucus. All of this is common.
