Wednesday night's was the last GOP debate for 2023. Thank. God. How much can we hear these same statements from these same candidates? Hopefully, by the 2024 primaries, we will have whittled the field down to the top two and call it a day. If Donald Trump is among those top two, maybe he'll bother to show up to debate.
Still lots of ifs, but here's what we can say with some certitude: Nikki Haley has been effectively eliminated. Oh, she'll hover around for New Hampshire and maybe a bit of time after that. But Wednesday night's performance showed that her presidential candidacy is D.O.A.
This was the first slice. Most pundits are giving tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy the credit for taking down Haley, but the first volley came from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. On the question of whether DeSantis should bow out, especially with Haley moving ahead of him in the polls, DeSantis had this to say about his strong record of delivering results while swooping in an immediate attack on Haley for her lack of fight for the American people.
The world has changed in the almost seven years since Nikki Haley was governor of South Carolina, and so has Nikki Haley, as the moderator's next question spotlighted: How did Haley go from making almost $200,000 a year to a net worth of $8 million? That is being fact-checked even at this writing. However, what is clear is that Haley is nonplussed about cozying up to corporate interests that have targeted Americans and their ability to achieve the American Dream. This was made glaringly obvious as she claimed that DeSantis and Ramaswamy were "jealous" because she was receiving the support of these donors and they were not.

Just saw where CNN was awarded two more republican debates. One just before Iowa Caucus and One just before New Hampshire primary.
It seems that nearly every time she opens her mouth, she is sidling further toward the left.

Say what you will about Vivek, but he’s pretty fearless .... the expression on Haley’s face was priceless and I laughed out loud when DeSantis put his hand on his hip, looking at Vivek like “who IS this guy?” Vivek should get the DJT Verbal Bomb Thrower Award ... he sure can lob them & accurately, too.

Funny how the Trump chumps around here seem to be trying to cheer her on to pass DeSantis... and how Trump never criticizes her but goes gonzo on DeSantis.
