Dictator Kim Jong Un openly weeps as he urges North Korean women to have more babies to stem declining birth rate

Civic duty was put before pride as North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un was caught openly weeping during a plea to “Dear Mothers” over the need to increase birth rates.

Despite globalist glee at the prospect of a diminishing world population, alarm bells have been ringing for years about the impact such developments would have on society. Even in the socialist so-called Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the problem was not only apparent, but worth crying over.

Speaking Sunday from the capital city Pyongyang, Kim addressed the 5th National Meeting of Mothers, back after an 11-year hiatus, insisting that addressing population decline was “all of our housekeeping duties…”

Predicting that “North Korean birth rates are about to skyrocket,” Collin Rugg shared a clip of the address aired on Korean Central Television where the dictator could be seen dabbing his eyes before the assembly of women as he said, “Preventing a decline in birth rates and good childcare are all of our housekeeping duties we need to handle while working with mothers.”

According to the United Nations Population Fund, with a population sitting at about 25 million, the fertility rate in North Korea has been trending down and was reported at about 1.8 for 2023.

A rate of about 2.1 is considered the necessary mark to maintain current population levels and the socialist nation was far outpacing its regional neighbors as Japan’s fertility rate had dropped to 1.26 and on the other side of the demilitarized zone, South Korea fell to a record low of 0.78.

Of course, speaking before the assembly of equally teary-eyed women adorned with traditional garments, the carefully orchestrated event wasn’t without a directive from the dictator to maintain the status quo as he told the “Dear Mothers” how “we are confronted with a host of social tasks that our mothers should join to tackle.”

“These tasks include bringing up their children so that they will steadfastly carry forward our revolution, eliminating the recently-increasing non-socialist practices, promoting family harmony and social unity, establishing a sound way of cultural and moral life, making the communist virtues and traits of helping and leading one another forward prevail over our society, stopping the declining birth rate, and taking good care of children and educating them effectively,” presented Kim.

“These belong to our common family affairs,” he added, “which we need to deal with by joining hands with our mothers.”

Professor Christopher Murray of the University of Washington had told the BBC in June 2020, before the impact of COVID-19 and responses to it could be truly fathomed, that early projections anticipated the global fertility rate would drop below 1.7 by the year 2100.

“That’s a pretty big thing; most of the world is transitioning into natural population decline,” he said. “I think it’s incredibly hard to think this through and recognize how big a thing this is; it’s extraordinary, we’ll have to reorganize societies.”

Murray spoke directly about how the decrease in fertility rates would result in populations having a greater number of old people than young people, presenting “uniformly negative consequences of an inverted age structure.”

Unlike in capitalist nations like the U.S. where social media influencers started the trend of bragging about their “d.i.n.k.” lifestyles (dual-income with no kids), users online were quick to criticize the government of North Korea for oppressing their people into the declining state.

Arranged marriages, banning birth control, better benefits for those with more children are some things he can do. Since he is a dictator he can rule by decree on these matters.

Even there the birth rate is declining.

There is no place on earth where it is rising.

Which is not a good thing.

Currently we are at 2.4 births per woman which is just above replacement and the majority of the over replacement rate births happen in places with high child mortality rates. So these kids tend not to become adults.

We will not vanish tomorrow but it is a trend that has been going on since 1950 and it has been world wide.

“...it is a trend that has been going on since 1950...”

Isn’t that about the time that birth control became available and fairly effective?

While other nations’ birth rates are even lower, I have to say I cannot imagine. wanting to bring a child into the North Korean hellhole.

If you are talking about the pill no.

It did not come along until 1960 and we were already on a downward slope.

In fact in the early sixties we had a slight bump to the positive. Our biggest drop was in 1978.

Now if you are talking about condoms, those had been around since the 1920s. Actually before but they were widely available in the 1920s.

Birth control ie the pill became available in the sixties. Before that it was pretty much condoms, abortion, and in some countries sterilization campaigns. The historic pattern is that as economic prosperity rises, birth rates fall. By 1950, following the aftermath of WWII, there was a burst of global economic activity including trade, capital investment, and decolonization.

Tell that to the WEF elite, who want to reduce our numbers to one half billion. They’ll celebrate it!
