“As we’ve said for weeks, legislation that doesn’t include policy changes to secure our borders will not pass the Senate,” said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.), who has been one of the most ardent supporters of Ukraine.
Republicans and Democrats have been discussing a change to tighten the initial asylum screening standard, but GOP lawmakers have said that change alone isn’t enough. They have broadened their demands to include a massive expansion of immigration detention for asylum seekers, the ability to send asylum seekers to other countries the U.S. deems are safe and limits on an immigration status known as humanitarian parole. The Biden administration has used parole expansively to let in hundreds of thousands of refugees from the Ukraine war and asylum seekers at the border who sign up in advance.

Ukraine was Biden’s grift, starting as VP and extending into his faux presidency. And yes, you defended his proxy war for these past 18 months. Now that the Project has collapsed, as many patriots here warned, how does it feel to have been so wrong?
Three more hours, and the thorazine-deficient screaming about his lawn will subside...
Their love for their Biden has not diminished.
Dagnabbit!!
Nice try, kid. I wasn’t wrong: I agreed with supporting a country that was invaded unjustifiably by a larger and stronger neighbor. You didn’t, because you identify with the aggressor; which is not at all surprising, given that Russia has historically been a paranoid and insecure bully.
Nice try, pops. But truth be known, you told US that Zelensky was a young Churchill *and* that they would drive Putin back to Moscow. Wrong x 2. Now get that pudding cup and get under those covers!
Nice try, kid. You’ve been spreading that lie for weeks; and every time you are called out on it, and challenged to post the link, you scurry back to your little ferret hole and sulk.
So, kid: Post it.
Has something changed? Can too much or too little thorazine cause hallucinations?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Another hour.
100%
Such a good point
Biden veto if this gets passed by congress?
I think..........yes.
Are you still up?
Plus I am afraid that if the bill passed intact and Biden signed it, Mayorkas would ignore the asylum reforms.
He’d only veto it if he was assured by Schumer that there were not enough votes to overcome the veto.
Sure am.
So, why haven’t you posted the link, Jon? You’ve had weeks to do so.
Get on the stick, kid, and post it.
I appreciate it. Loss of memory is a terrible thing, isn't it?
My question is, what is being done to reduce illegals’ ability to make money (or in the case of the gov’t have it given to them) in the USA?
I’m all for security that will help stop drugs and terrorists, but, if we don’t dry up the easy* money for illegals, we’ll be fighting a monumental battle to keep them out, forever.
*In fact, some illegals work hard, and at “unattractive” jobs, but if they are making 4x what they would back home for the same work, it’s “easy money” to them.
It’s worth mentioning that when I was checking oil futures a couple hours ago, Urals crude had actually fallen to under $57 / bbl. It’s been hovering a bit above $60, so I’d expect some recovery (maybe back to a bit above $60), but, these prices can’t be making Pooty happy, and the oligarchs even less so, as levies on oil income have increased.
The dynamic here is interesting, and Trump was talking about it a couple nights ago: If we had sane leadership we could be pushing, well, he said “double”, I’d estimate well over 16 M bbl / day by now.
