Expect higher prices. Might be good for folks working at these entities to have their resumes updated.

Hearing from many chicken owners, it seemed to be the feed causing hens not to lay. When their diet was switched from the certain industrial feed to scraps and foraging they started laying again.

Was the bird flu real?
I thought it was. Went from about 15 owls in my backyard to one.
Really enjoyed having them there.

I notice that no one is saying how much this raised the price of eggs.
I do know during that time that the biggest part of the price was the cost of the carton. Same with milk, the largest part of the price of milk is the cost of the bottle.
Which is why buying four quarts is more then buying one gallon. More food quality resin and energy is used to blow four quart bottles rather then one gallon bottle.
And the price of a heavy plastic bottle, like with the chugs, really raises the price.
So there you go. More then you ever actually wanted to know about the price of eggs and milk.

When we can, we get eggs locally from the farmers.
We have a milk supply nearby for farm fresh milk.

Did the real bird fly?
Are you sure you’re not egg-saggerating? Maybe they did not egg-spire but just egg-sitted your yard to get some eggs-ercise?

We are not allowed to sell our fresh milk so any extra gets turned into cheese which, if aged, we are allowed to sell.
Eggs are only for family consumption although that expands quite a bit in the summer.
Our neighbor raises chickens and sells the eggs at our fruit and veggie stand in the summer. You get a $0.25 discount on your eggs if you bring your own carton.

But they can already do that at will... and do....
Perhaps the eggs were so expensive for the last few years because Big Egg knew this day was coming.
