The Israeli defensive action in Gaza has become, we are told, a massive humanitarian crisis, and it must stop. All the most trustworthy people in the world tell us so.
“The United States is unequivocal; international humanitarian law must be respected. Too many innocent Palestinians have been killed,” declared putative Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday. “Frankly, the scale of civilian suffering and the images and videos coming from Gaza are devastating.”
Then on Monday, the Associated Press, with a fine regard for journalistic objectivity, reported that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Soviet Union) and what it called “a robust group of Democratic senators” were “done ‘asking nicely’ for Israel to do more to reduce civilian casualties in Gaza.” These fearless solons “warned President Joe Biden’s national security team that planned U.S. aid to Israel must be met with assurances of concrete steps from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s hard-right government.” Sanders thundered, “The truth is that if asking nicely worked, we wouldn’t be in the position we are today.” AP added, “It was time for the United States to use its ‘substantial leverage’ with its ally, the Vermont senator said.”
To buttress their indignation and increasingly shrill demands, Harris and Sanders and the rest can look to no less an authority than the United Nations. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on Sunday published a chart of “Reported Casualties” in Gaza, and the numbers look grim indeed: over 15,523 deaths, with 4,257 women and 6,387 children making up fully 70% of that figure. The far-left establishment media is putting out substantially the same figures; the UK’s Guardian wrote Tuesday that “in the last three days, bombing has been heavy, and the total death toll since 7 October has risen to 15,899.”

Actually I’ve heard several geo-political analysts say Hamas knew what Israel’s actions would be, namely that they would respond with great force killing a lot of civilians. And that this slaughter would result in bringing the Palestinian issue to the fore once again and prevent the Saudis from following through with the Abraham Accords. So in that sense they were very successful. Hamas cares little about civilian casualties itself, to them it’s just a means to an end to get world opinion on their side.
“Civilians,” including Arab terrorists and their supporters, were extensively notified and facilitated to remove themselves from the active war zone.
How many were upset with the 100% civilian casualties when hamas sneak attacked Israel and killed over a thousand?
Show me the 15,000+ graves.
We know that Israel hasn't killed enough of them by the simple fact that Hamas/Gaza/Palestine or whatever they want to call themselves have not surrendered or in any way taken back or stopped on their repeated vows and attempts to kill all Jews. Until Israel obtains that surrender, not enough of Israel's violent enemies have been killed. I don't know how much simpler that math can be stated.
I agree.
There are no decent persons in Gaza. They’re all Muslims.
Yo Spencer, I seriously doubt that ‘everybody’ cares. In fact I suspect most folks don’t give a flying fook about the muslim koranimals in Gaza.
I certainly don’t ...
It would be rather difficult for any govt to pressure Israel into “negotiating,”
since Israel has munitions and weaponry to destroy Hamas entirely on its own.
There’s Biden’s 2023 arms handout to Israel:
<><>57,000 155mm artillery shells
<><>more than 5,000 Mk82 unguided or “dumb” bombs,
<><>more than 5,400 Mk84 2,000 pound warhead bombs,
<><>around 1,000 GBU-39 small diameter bombs,
<><>approximately 3,000 JDAMs, which turn unguided bombs into guided “smart” bombs,
<><>BLU-109 bunker busters w/ 2,000 pound warheads designed to penetrate concrete shelters.
There’s Obama’s $38 billion deal that covers fiscal years 2019-2028 that includes:
<><>-annual US payments to Israel of $3.3 billion in “military financing,”
<><>-$500 million a year for Israel’s missile defense operations in the Negev, a foreign aid first,
<><>-A phasing-out of Israel’s decades-long “special arrangement”
<><>ie. Israel used 26.3% of US aid on its own global defense industry (not on US-made weapons).
<><>-Eliminates Israel using some 13% of US aid to buy military fuel.
<><>-will allow Israel to update “the lion’s share” of its fighter aircraft,
<><>includes purchasing additional F-35 Joint Strike Fighters.
<><>Israel is to initially receive thirty-three F-35 aircraft,
<><>the first two F-35’s will be delivered in December.
The (a) weaponry build-up from Obama 2018 into 2028, (b) follows the $30 billion weaponry deal Israel signed in 2007, which expires at the end of fiscal 2018, and (c) a systematic buildup of Israeli arms, like this one in 2015 (one of many).

As required by US law, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale to Israel on May 18, 2015: Joint Direct Attack Munition Tail Kits, munitions, and associated equipment, parts and logistical support for an estimated cost of $1.879 billion.
The Government of Israel has requested:
<><>14,500 KMU-556C/B Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM) tail kits
<><>consisting of 10,000 for Mk-84;
<><>500 for Mk-83;
<><>and,4,000 for Mk-82;
<><>3,500 Mk-82 bombs; 4,500 Mk-83 bombs;
<><>50 BLU-113 bombs;

<><>250 AIM-120C Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles;

The proposed sale of this equipment will provide Israel
<><>the ability to support its self-defense needs
<><>enable Israel to maintain operational capability of its existing systems
<><>and will enhance Israel’s interoperability with the United States.
Israel already has these munitions in its inventory, and will have no difficulty absorbing the additional munitions into its armed forces.
All questions regarding this proposed Foreign Military Sale should be directed to the State Department’s Bureau of Political Military Affairs, Office of Congressional and Public Affairs, pm-cpa@state.gov.
I get the impression that many Freepers are posting their response to an article they haven’t read.
ALL CAPS = NO ONE WILL READ IT.
Even if you post it twice.
And...
VIDEO: ”We lose 93 million Americans a day to gun violence!”
“Show me the 15,000+ graves.”
This!
The number is totally made up. It is propaganda.
We sure aren’t sending our best to Washington..any wonder we have a debt problem with these folks doing the math.
They thought that Israel would retaliate and then knuckle under to the US and EU demands for “proportionality”. They thought that Muslims everywhere would rise up. They thought wrong. Israel is going after Hamas, Munich-style.
Too many Israelis were viciously and brutally targeted for murder and/or kidnapping and/or rape....
Collateral civilian casualties are unfortunate, but that is what happens when you go into a nation and commit such monstrous acts.
Maybe the Gazans will get tired of all this and turn on the *true* occupiers of Gaza.
Those lowlifes were throwing 60,000 killed over the past 9 months, too... total BS!
There are no civilians in Gaza; there are only current fighters, future fighters, and makers of future fighters.
Just as to a Muslim there are no innocent Jews, to the civilized world there are no innocent Palestinians.
