Israel is Brussels — if Brussels shared a border with a bunch of tribal medieval warlords with access to 21st-century weaponry.
Many people wondered after Oct. 7 how an advanced nation like Israel could have allowed a massive, three-pronged, well-executed terrorist incursion into its civilian areas. The myth about Israel’s infallible security services isn’t new.
Last week, The New York Times reported that Israeli officials had their hands on Hamas’ Oct. 7 plans a year ago. Though there was no specific date for the attack attached to the plan, it described a “methodical assault designed to overwhelm the fortifications around the Gaza Strip, take over Israeli cities and storm key military bases, including a division headquarters.”

A few things to remember:
Israelis can be arrogant and dismissive about their enemies. It leads to disasters. In this case, it’s clear Israel overestimated the effectiveness of its security services and its border and underestimated Hamas. Their enemies might be terrorists, but they aren’t stupid.
There probably isn’t another nation that has such a pronounced economic, moral, and lifestyle disparity with its neighbors. Perhaps South Korea? Israel’s per capita GDP is on par with most Western European nations at $54,660, while in Palestinian territories the per capita GDP is $3,789 — which, despite claims of Gaza being an “open-air prison” etc., is on par with Egyptians ($4,295), Jordanians ($4,205) and Lebanese ($4,136).

Before we go pointing fingers at Israel as a result of their not acting on intel about 10/7; we need to look in a mirror ourselves on two distinctive dates.

Yeah, I think you’re right.
It will be rather difficult for any govt to pressure Israel into “negotiating,”
since Israel has munitions and weaponry to destroy Hamas entirely on their own.

It’s easy to be a Monday Morning Quarterback. I do not know if Israel disregarded intel or not. It’s just been said that they did. I don’t think that’s the case.
Not buying this story. Too many questions remain to be explained and should be investigated. Exactly how did these tapes happen to go missing?

An IDF officer showed me a map of Gaza, and a map of Arab lands. He explained in detail how they would deal with Gaza in 2005. He said they cut it into sectors. Push a road from the fence to the sea. They they would clear it above and below ground, one sector at a time, usually from 3 directions. So this did not happen until October 7th. Every has a plan. Just because Isreal knew of the plans didn’t give them the right to... how about Nuke Iran because Iran has stated they will nuke Tel Aviv. Everyone knows Iran’s stated goal to nuke Israel. So what about Gaza... it appears Israel has used kid gloves with this population but maybe not the next time.
All the BS about they let it happen. It is a matter of when with Iran and by proxy Hamas, Hezbolla, etc. Since we know by this author’s viewpoint, Israel should have dealt with a know threat a year ago.

Israel is a patient people.
That IDF officer also said the Arabs finance the Palestinians because it’s all they can do. Israel he said doesn’t make threats, but they have warned that any Arab nation who attacks by military means will will learn the destruction of fire. They leave it to imagination as to what can do that. Periodically Isreal warns Syria that it will destroy Damascus completely with fire.
He said if Tel Aviv or Isreal proper where destroyed, all the lands of the Arab people who forever be uninhabitable, and that every Arab worldwide will be hunted and put to death. That of Jews by various Arabs make the blood liable something without end.
In the Middle East, this has always been the way, until the British got involved.
When he showed me the IDF Maps it was shown with pin point grid square like coverage over 500 targets. These targets were of equal distance in each direction. He said no bird or animal would live there, anywhere.
I presume only a thermonuclear detonation would provide a basis for attacking ever, square inch of land mass.

Biden and his handlers hate Bibi and Israel. He’ll I think Biden’s team thought they could leverage Ukraine aid if they bundled it with Isreal, so they gave a green light to Hamas. Biden could not allow the Abraham Accords to succeed.

Israel already has the F35 and they gave special modification program platforms that allow extended range, different payload/fuel configurations. They are doing with the F35 the same thing that led to the Arrow Missile Program. I got to spend countless hours at the Arrow Field Office with my wife, and we coordinated the reduction of 20 TS Safes stored locally into storage thru the embassy, where I got to handle the dip pouch as a part of my normal duty.
The F35 that Israel has is under license and treaty agreement to be modified with monthly data reported back to the proponent USAF office for AC development.
