It’s not just a matter of not letting them on the bus because of their religion — these buses booked to transport Jewish Torontonians to Ottawa didn’t even show up as scheduled.
The latest move of anti-Semitism saw about 500 people trying to get to the pro-Israel rally in Ottawa thrown under the bus.
Or perhaps a better way of saying it is off the bus — and on the side of the road.
There were 70 buses lined up to take more than 2,000 people to Parliament Hill on Monday morning but at the last moment something suspicious happened.
“We were shocked that, of more than 70 buses UJA booked, 17 did not show up,” UJA president and CEO Adam Minsky said in a statement. “Those 17 buses were the responsibility of a particular sub-contracted company. Despite charging in full in advance and confirming its participation, the company did not send a single bus and has declined all communications while refusing to provide any explanation.
“Given the absolute silence of the sub-contractor and with no other explanation, we are driven to the view that this shameful decision is intended to disrupt our peaceful rally out of hatred toward Jews.
Minsky added: “What happened today is sickening and outrageous. We will respond aggressively with every legal and public affairs tool at our disposal. UJA is already working with legal counsel and will be proceeding with strong, decisive actions against this company. Hate and discrimination against any community can never be tolerated in Canada.”
It’s still unclear what happened here. But whatever it was, it should be fully exposed.
“It smells,” said Moshe Birnbaum from one of the buses on Highway 401 heading to the capital. “There were no weather issues. It’s obvious what happened here.”
Others told the Toronto Sun that they feel this is something the police should be contacted over as both a potential theft investigation and also a possible hate crime.
“They didn’t want to drive Jews,” said one of the thousands on the way to Ottawa for the afternoon rally scheduled to have many speakers including MPs Anthony Housefather and Melissa Lantsman and Rex Murphy. “This also happened at the rally in Washington where drivers wouldn’t drive people from the airport to the capitol.”
It’s pure Jew hatred. But it’s also very dangerous to do this to people on such a cold day.
Among those stranded were 350 students who were outside at 6 a.m. with nowhere to go. UJA said they “made alternative travel arrangements for those affected.”
Hopefully there will be a full investigation into just what happened here and discipline for those who pulled this move. The same move pulled on the Washington rally last month saw 900 people from Detroit stuck with no ride.
There are 17 GTA bus drivers who should be asked to produce a valid doctor’s note.
In the Union occupied Southern States during the Civil War - Jews were prohibited from riding on trains on the direct orders of W.T. Sherman.
Expect more. Democrat dog whistles are blowing loud and clear.
I’m not surprised at all. Until the Pope invoked Infallibility late in the 19th century it was mainstream Christian doctrine that the Jews were responsibility for murdering Jesus, whom they regarded as a Rabbi.
Here’s the correct Roman Catholic response, since that Papal Bull more than a century ago, to the question, “Who murdered Jesus Christ, Son of God, our Lord and Saviour”:
I DID!!!
500, 70, 2000, 17, Rt. 401...
Purim reversals are in early this year. Esther chapter 9 tells what happened to 500 enemies of the Jews who were in the capital city.
Tradeau loves nazis like the one from Ukrania
Strange that it was the Jews who were blamed instead of the Romans.
Why aren’t the Italians responsible for the murder of Jesus?
Next Holocaust Museums will be torched! Ancient hate has resurfaced, like Dracula returning from the grave. Hate is never really dead—it is only sleeping, waiting to re-surface. We must be ready to stand up to the mob least it become a movement as it did in the past. If we do not—Those six million died in vain.
Hate and discrimination against any community can never be tolerated in Canada.”
Unless they are conservatives, they forgot to add.
I had in my collection a text used for generations in Catholic seminaries in which the author stated that the Gospels were "inerrant" excepting when they stated the Romans crucified Jesus. That text claimed 1) error in the Gospels, and 2) Jews did the actual act of crucifixion. The latest Catholic doctrine overturned that, and it stands today. It is an interesting side to the larger narrative.
Declaration on the Relation of the Church to Non-Christian Religions -- NOSTRA AETATE -- Proclaimed by His Holiness Pope Paul VI on October 28, 1965
Hmmmm ... something similar happened at Dulles International Airport a few weeks ago.
I doubt it’s a conspiracy ... just people who think alike acting alike.
Because the mob that demanded His crucifixion was composed of Jews. The Jewish authorities at the time were not permitted to impose the death penalty, so they had to goad the Roman authorities. Unruly mobs are very effective at persuading weak government officials. Think we Americans are immune? I got two words for you: George Floyd. In any case, Pontius Pilate is one of two human persons mentioned in the Nicene Creed. In it, he is assigned blame for Jesus' crucifixion.
So ... reality is maybe a little more complicated than your question implies.
And,IIRC,for Che as well.
I did not know that.
Do you have a source?
Rabid Antisemitism, not unusual in Nazi Canuckistan or for Nazi Trudeau or Canuck Nazi Degenerates.
Sherman?- - - The General who burned down Atlanta? And many other Southern cities?
Same thing already happened in DC. What’s America’s excuse?
Because a Jewish fella named Peter went to the Roman capital and start the world’s first Christian Church :-)
I am not in the least bit surprised; even Martin Luther bought into that fundamentally un-Christian belief.
That document you cited was dated a couple of years after Vatican II. There are still some Roman Catholics who regard John XXIII as a heretic on the basis of Vatican II alone!. The only “Old School” RC tradition that I’ll respectfully observe among old- time Catholics is fish on Friday because it’s the polite thing to do :-)
