Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko expressed concern for the future of democracy in Ukraine under President Volodymyr Zelensky and pronounced himself unsurprised that support for the president is falling in the country in a series of interviews published this weekend.
Klitschko, a former heavyweight boxing champion whose name has been floated as presidential candidate material for nearly a decade, lamented to the German newspaper Der Spiegel on Friday that he had not had a single phone call with Zelensky, despite being the mayor of the nation’s capital during wartime. He told the newspaper he was concerned that Ukraine would soon “no longer be any different from Russia.”

Ukraine has had a democracy? It cannot decline if it never existed. An oligarchy, maybe, that makes a play of sham elections, much in the mold of the Soviet Union of which Ukraine was once a part. But Ukraine today is not a “democracy” in the sense there are competing political parties or honest elections.
Maybe it is the kind of “democracy” of “One man, one vote, one way, one time”.
Right, Ukraine having free and fair elections since 2000 with five different presidents from 4 different parties is not a democracy. Okay
Now do Germany from 2005 to 2021.
Klitschko doesn’t like Zelensky, but it doesn’t sound like he has any interest in surrendering to Moscow.
Churchill also postponed elections five times during WW2.
U.S. didn’t.
“Maybe it is the kind of “democracy” of “One man, one vote, one way, one time”.
Seems that is the carbon copy of the government in Gaza called hamas, if they allowed elections.

Biden is A-OK with confiscating weapons from innocent, law abiding citizens wanting to protect
their families, as he blankets foreign countries with tens of thousand of tax-financed weaponry.
JUST IN
According to an internal US govt list of the weapons described to
The WSJ, among the US arms Biden handed over to Israel include:
<><>some 57,000 artillery shells
<><>more than 5,000 Mk82 unguided or “dumb” bombs,
<><>more than 5,400 Mk84 2,000 pound warhead bombs,
<><>around 1,000 GBU-39 small diameter bombs,
<><>approximately 3,000 JDAMs, which turn unguided bombs into guided “smart” bombs,
<><>BLU-109 bunker busters w/ 2,000 pound warheads designed to penetrate concrete shelters.
See my tagline.
Er. Zelensky has suspended the elections. Nice try. You Uke Intel Ops need to do better.
Zelensky is ‘Not Satisfied’ With the Level of Western Weapon Donations
Zelensky’s dancing to a different tune.....so far all we’ve had was
“his word” that Ukraine is always winning and Russia is always losing.
Money-grubbing Zelensky now says “he wants new Ukrainian arms factories built to
produce Western-style weapons, but to achieve this he needed licenses and loans.”
(And he wants US taxpayers to foot the bills.)
“This is the way out”, he said: because, (cue laugh machine) “there was ‘nothing
Russia feared more’ than a Ukraine able to produce its own munitions.”
ROTFLOL.
“Give us these opportunities, and we will build… Whatever effort and time it will take, we will do it, and we will do it very quickly” said Zelensky, asking for preferential credit terms to achieve it.
Understandably, since Russian drones and missiles are striking cities all over Ukraine.
Just like Churchill who postponed elections five times during WW2.
Biden and the Democrats are OK with arming foreign countries but grabbing guns from Americans is an obsession w/ them. The same “Congress” that gleefully tramples 2A rights, is hell bent on supplying weapons to foreign countries.
Not content w/ the mega billions already in his pocket, Zelensky now says
he wants US tax dollars to Ukraine “according to the Israeli model”......here’s what he means:
Congressional Research Service
US Foreign aid to Israel
60 page detailed report
https://crsreports.congress.gov/product/pdf/RL/RL33222/44
The concerned Israeli lobby made sure Congress is required by law to ensure that U.S. military aid in the Middle East region doesn’t damage Israel’s military superiority over its neighbors. That requirement enjoys broad bipartisan support and has served as a benchmark for ensuring Israel receives robust U.S. support.
Biden keeps gaslighting Americans about the “need” for
American foreign aid tax dollars to Ukraine and Israel.
Here’s why they DONT need it:
About $113.1 billion in tax dollars were authorized in 2022 for Ukraine, according to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. Most of it–about $67.1 billion–was defense-related. The other $46 billion included:
<><>$26.9 billion for economic support;
<><>$7.9 billion for international disaster assistance;
<><>$6.6 billion in assistance for refugees;
<><>$1.5 billion for assistance for Europe, Eurasia and Central Asia;
<><>plus $3.1 billion for other non-defense spending.
US tax dollars helped Ukraine
<><>pay the salaries of 618,000 educators, 517,000 health workers, and 56,500 first responders
<><>helped sustain critical healthcare services,
<><>helped meet pension responsibilities for 9.8 million people,
<><>assisted 1.3 million internally displaced persons,
<><>provided housing assistance to 4.1 million people,
<><>provided social assistance to 240,000 low-income families
<><>helped subsidize 480,000 persons with disabilities,
<><>bought supplies for farmers,
<><>financed finding markets for small business.
Backstory: Since 1973, Israel has received more than $120 billion US tax
dollars in MILITARY assistance alone, including “three special aid” packages.
<><>billions for signing the Israel-Egypt peace treaty
<><>billions for Israel’s withdrawal from the Sinai.
<><>billions for redeployment of Israeli forces
<><>rebuilding Israeli air bases in the Negev cost $5 billion.
Besides weaponry, Israel also receives:
<><> economic and humanitarian foreign aid, which
<><>aid that supports Israel’s broad economic development
<><>aid that finances Israel’s sociopolitical stability
<><>non-military aid related to the country’s pressing security needs.
Military aid from US taxpayers has blanketed Israel over the years. They have more than enough resources, now, to nail Hamas and Hezbollah. Wealthy Israel has very low debt, and actually had a budget surplus this year, while the US is $33 trillion in debt, a debt which future generations are saddled with.
Former Defense Secretary and CIA Director Robert Gates and former Secretary of State and National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice in an op-ed piece for the Washington Post urge the Biden administration to “urgently provide Ukraine with a dramatic increase in military supplies and capability--sufficient to deter a renewed Russian offensive and to enable Ukraine to push back Russian forces in the east and south.” They also urge our NATO allies to “provide Ukrainians with longer-range missiles, advanced drones, significant ammunition stocks (including artillery shells), more reconnaissance and surveillance capability, and other equipment.” If we don’t help Ukraine defeat Putin, they say, eventually U.S. security will be threatened. Ukraine, they contend, is fighting our “proxy war” against Russia.
“Understandably, since Russian drones and missiles are striking cities all over Ukraine.
Just like Churchill who postponed elections five times during WW2.”
Hogwash. There is vote by mail and the internet.
Yanukovych was ousted in a color revolution.
Poroshenko was an acceptable oligarch chosen by the other oligarchs.
Zelensky was a celebrity maneuvered into position with the oligarch Kolomoisky’s money and influence.
And zelensky was elected because he continually said he would declare peace with Russia.
