Someone’s career post will be a Window seat at some obscure facility.
.......nothing new....look up the sad tale of Kara Hultgreen, Lieutenant, United States Navy (deceased)....pushed through Navy flight school despite being underqualified, and eventually died as a result....
And no all-male crew has ever overshot a runway or dropped a plane in the drink on accident? How about landing at the wrong airport?
Well, I think it’s simply disrespectful, an uninformed, to blame women service members for the accident. As far as I’ve seen, there’s not even any information on the cause, whether pilot error, whether mechanical failure, or whatever. So this seems like simply an opportunity to criticize women in the military. And Megan, if she is a female, what’s her beef, did some woman in the military steal her boyfriend or husband? Or did she feel inadequate compared to a female service member?
True that.
Well it was a spy plane. Maybe the mission was to search for submarines.
How can you crash a 737 Boeing Series aircraft? They are the easiest Boeing aircraft to fly and land ever made.
Well, that’s an eye opener.
Those planes generally are sub hunters.
That there's not any information on the cause is a clue and blaming women service members is a consequence of the military celebrating women service members for no reason other than their genitalia.
They embrace the bullspit accolades; they take the thrown rocks. Welcome to the uniform.

The military in general doesn't concern itself with who's "best," their standard is who's "good enough."
Like the old joke, "What do you call the person who graduates last in their class from medical school?"
Doctor.
Same goes for flight school. A qualified pilot is a qualified pilot. Military aviators, in principle, are fungible. You don't get flight pay for being substandard.
I looked up the VP-4 squadron in question, and the CO is identified as Cdr. Matthew “Bromance” Fannin.

Makes you wonder.
“Bro” is not even a pilot..CO of a flying squadron is a passenger. Girls and GIBs....God help us.
My first tour of duty was at NAS Barbers Point, HI (closed during BRAC) flying P-3 Orions. I can honestly tell you that 21-knots of wind and rain are nothing unusual on Oahu at any time of year. Simple pilot error imho.
Could’ve called Yoda...
Jus’ sayin’...
“The point is that runway is much longer than Chicago Midway”
Not sure about Chicago Midway, but KBay’s runway is 7000 ft

Certainly don’t know about this CO or his competency, but non-pilots (Naval Flight Officers - NFOs) have been COs of VP squadrons since the late ‘70s, early ‘80s
Closer to 8k, actually. 7,771ft.
Yup, thanks

Did not realize that...Thanks. (The AF started doing the same in airlift squadrons after I retired...mid-2000’s I believe)...disaster at the altar of PC.
Yay diversity!
