Biden to phase out American (coal) power
American Thinker ^ | 4 Dec, 2023 | Eric Utter

Are the Chinese communists and the Bidenites using the same playbook?

Reports indicate that the United States has committed to phasing out coal power plants, and sooner rather than later, though no specific date has yet been given. The U.S. joins 56 other nations who have similarly pledged to rid themselves of coal power.

U.S. “special envoy” John Kerry recently announced that Washington has agreed to join something called “the Powering Past Coal Alliance” which means the Biden administration has effectively vowed to build no new coal plants and to phase out existing plants.

Kerry said the U.S. and other PPCA nations “will be working to accelerate unabated coal phase-out across the world,” and added, “the first step is to stop making the problem worse: stop building new unabated coal power plants.”

Due to other Biden administration “regulatory actions” and “international commitments” already in the works, there is some speculation that it may target 2035 as a coal-free date.

Which would seem an entirely pointless endeavor, given the fact that China is still building new coal plants at an astounding rate. According to researchers at China’s State Grid Corp., the Middle Kingdom could add up to 150 gigawatts of new coal-fired generation capacity by year-end 2025. If so, that would put China’s known coal-fired generation capacity at roughly 1,230 gigawatts, which is more than half of all global coal-fired electricity output, and over 5 times the coal-fired capacity of the United States. China built more than three times as much new coal power capacity as all other countries in the world combined in the year 2020, and it is unlikely to stop doing so as its power demand continues to grow.

This is just the managed decline of the free enterprise system. I am guessing that Joe Biden and John Kerry do not care at all that China is increasing coal power generation capacity.

The Traitorjoe kakistocracy, including the Traitorgranholm and the Department of Energy, continue to give aid and comfort to the domestic and foreign enemies of the United States.

“I am guessing that Joe Biden and John Kerry do not care at all . . .

Joe Biden is 81 years old. John Kerry is 79. Both will likely be dead within ten years so neither really has a stake in the country’s future. Both are wealthy and live lifestyles unattainable by 99% of the American people. They have servants, aides, attorneys, and security to eliminate the day to day obstacles the people they rule over face. Inflation does not concern them, safety does not concern them, the cost and quality of medical care does not concern them. If they want something — from a cup of coffee to a vacation on a secluded private island, all they have to do is tell an aide and their wish will be realized as quickly as humanly possible.

Yes, they do not care because they do not have to care.

Yes, they do not care because they do not have to care.

It is so sad for them, because they are close to having to give an account for their lives. All the power and prestige they have will be NOTHING. This is when they ought to MOST care.

Yes, all that, plus they have no fear of being held accountable, thanks to our dual system of justice.

How about phasing out Biden???? Oh, but that should have been done on 20 January 2021. He is the worse President I have ever seen. Jimmy Carter can now rest in peace since he is NO LONGER THE WORSE PRESIDENT.

***which means the Biden administration has effectively vowed to build no new coal plants and to phase out existing plants. ****

The USA is already seeing this from the Obama administration. Since then the company I worked for has closed and tore down several coal fired plants. Some plants is still in operation as they are so profitable they still use low sulfur Wyoming coal, yet they have had to be rebuilt to remove the smidgen of sulfur in them.

Other coal plants have been destroyed. The ones at Page AZ are gone, the ones at Farmington NM are in the process of being destroyed as is the natural gas industry. Needless to say the economic downturn has hit these towns real bad! Great coal field areas where plants were planned for fifty years ago have suddenly been declared within National Monument areas and cannot be used.

Selling coal to China is good for a trade deficient. Just like buying Venezuela heavy sulfur crude oil and then EXPORTING diesel, gasoline or other more expensive petroleum distillates.

Question is…did we sell our coal and oil reserves to China ALREADY in order for China to finance our profligate spending on war? Is this why we are putting moratoriums on coal and oil extraction?
