Former President Donald Trump professed to be honored to have the support of Black Lives Matter on Truth Social Wednesday after a co-founder of the organization’s Rhode Island chapter endorsed him on Fox & Friends on Tuesday.
In his post, Trump praised Mark Fisher as a “great guy” and suggested that he had done more for Black people “than any other President” with the possible exception of Abraham Lincoln.
“Spoke with Mark Fisher yesterday, a great guy, very honored to have his and BLM’s support,” declared Trump. “I have done more for Black people than any other President (Lincoln?), including 10 year funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities, where they had none, Opportunity Zones, Criminal Justice Reform, and much more. Thank you to Mark!”
During his TV appearance, Fisher blasted the Democratic Party for its “duplicity” on racial issues and argued that Trump’s critics had not “educated” themselves.
“Personally, I love the man,” said Fisher.
Black Lives Matter has oftentimes been criticized by other Republicans, who have accused the group of inflaming racial tensions, lying about law enforcement, and inspiring a number of violent riots in the months that followed George Floyd’s murder during the last year of Trump’s presidency.
In June 2020, Trump himself attacked the group, calling a plan to paint a “Black Lives Matter” sign in New York City a “symbol of hate” that would “further antagonize” police.
In an interview with Fox News later that year, Trump called the group “discriminatory” and mused that “it’s bad for Black people, it’s bad for everybody.”
Mark Esper, who served as Secretary of Defense in Trump’s administration, alleged in his book that the former president suggested that authorities shoot protesters amassed outside of the White House during the summer of 2020.

Trump’s position on law and order issues hasn’t changed. If this particular BLM member’s views have shifted closer to Trump’s then that’s a good thing.
In such case, expect an all caps TS post, that “Antifa is an idea, not an organization but I’m honored to be recognized as a fellow Nazi puncher.”
Good move
You didn’t read Trumps own post, did you? He’s “very honored to have BLMs support.”
And right on cue, the misleading memes get rolled out. No one here supports BLM. Trump doesn’t support BLM. We’re talking about one member whose views seem to have shifted.
“No one here is exactly what he appears.”
That is nowhere more true than in American politics.
At the rate Trumps going, he will be to their left by the convention.
Trump gushes over BLM Support.
I can almost see the Babylon Bee article coming.
Trump says a lot of things. He doesn’t always speak accurately. Do you seriously think Trump now supports lawlessness, riots and anti-white racism? Get real.
Just more proof that MAGA will accept anyone....who accepts MAGA. Notice, Trump and MAGA didnt change one policy or tone down one bit of rhetoric to cater to BLM or this guy. He hears Trump’s message, loved it, and Trump said welcome aboard. That’s how it’s done! Not a big tent...a magnet.
Trump’s finished this time. He’ll never recover from this. /s
Here we go again...
I've said it before and I'll say it again. In the million to one chance Trump returns to the White House, he's gonna go full libtard.
Mark this post.
A lame duck from Day One, he won't need his MAGA base anymore. They're of no further use to him. Under the bus they'll go. Jared and Ivanka will move back into the West Wing to ensure his administration is ridden of those embarrassing MAGA types just like they did the first time. After all, they'd like to once again be welcomed back into the Manhattan social scene that they were ostracized from. Ivanka has no use for Walmart-shopping Magadonians. She's not one of them.
So now Trump starts working with Democrats. Why? Because even though he's a lame duck, he still has the business empires that he'd like to pass down to his children someday. So he cuts deals to sign favorable legislation in exchange for the throttling back of the lawfare that's been draining his pockets.
Don't think Trump will sign an assault weapon ban? He'll do it in a heartbeat if the quid pro quo is right. He's said as much.
There will be no retribution. No scorched-earth vengeance. There will be Trump shifting to the left to save his own hide.
It'll be Christmas for Democrats and we'll be treated to "savoring MAGA tears" memes on Twitter as Trump signs everything Speaker Hakeem Jeffries puts on his desk.
True. We've seen time and time again that there is no conservative principle that Trump's followers won't quickly abandon.
Nobody’s abandoning anything. If you want to hyperventilate over a poorly worded comment from Trump, knock yourself out. Trump’s supporters aren’t going to turn on him over one Truth. We’ve seen enough of him to understand where he’s coming from.
Who is the guy on the right hand side of the photo?
And his limit on schnitzengruben is way over 15.
I’m almost tempted to chalk this up to a deliberately controversial statement made by Trump, rather than a poorly thought out comment. Over the next few days, I have no doubt Trump will clarify his meaning. In the mean time, certain quarters are likely to attack him, and it will end up backfiring. What are Democrats going to say? Are they going to criticize Trump for saying he’s glad to have this guy’s support? If the do, they would be foolish.
Trump’s supporters know where he stands on these issues and aren’t going to abandon him over this. But when the dust settles, the publicity garnered will have offered Trump an opportunity to demonstrate that he’s open to anyone who supports the MAGA agenda, black or white. The Democrats can keep the radical, racist black vote. Trump’s going after a different sort of black voter who’s open minded enough to recognize that the Uniparty, Dems and Reps alike, have sold them down the river like they have the rest of us.
I think you are on the wrong thread to employ any sort of reason or common sense.
But kudos for the noble effort! :)
