Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said he plans to stay in the Republican primary race through next summer’s nominating convention, dismissing a recent CNN poll that shows him trailing former President Donald Trump and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in New Hampshire — a state he’s invested heavily in winning.
n an interview with ABC News, Christie said his campaign will “focus most of our time and energy” on New Hampshire for the time being, but “our next two focuses … will be South Carolina and Michigan.”
Christie also called out Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for not aggressively criticizing Trump despite his position as the clear frontrunner. He said attacks from all three could be the key to weakening Trump and opening a path for another candidate.

Yep
It’s too bad. Twenty years ago or so, he showed some promise, demolishing liberal reporters.
Somebody got to him, and he sold out/kowtowed.
Now, he’s worse than useless.
Crispie Creme is staying in until the Convention? They must be passing out unlimited free donuts at every rally.
Trump didn’t make him AG, yes it’s that petty.
In hindsight he couldn’t have been worse then Sessions!
I’d bet the caterers are glad he’s staying.
.
The RNC is keeping Christie in.
How dumb do they think we are?
He will always “qualify” as he’s their plan.
.
.
Ask Christie if he knows what inflation and debt are.
He knows from how he left NJ.
They would all be wise to focus their attacks on Biden only.
His weight has certainly inflated.
Trump didn’t make him AG, yes it’s that petty.
President-Elect Trump fired Christie as manager of his transition team.
The Trump side of the story was that Christie was ineffective and that he filled the transition team with DC lobbyists who were then put in charge of staffing the departments that they were lobbying policies for.
Trump fired Christie and all of the lobbyists from the transition team. He then put Pence in charge of the transition, and Pence then made any incoming registered lobbyists sign agreements to forfeit returning to lobbying for five years after leaving the administration.
The bottom line is that Christie got too incestuous with the lobbyists who were trying to fill the administration with people who supported their policy positions, effectively planting their own insiders into the Trump administration.
That's why Christie hates Trump to this day.

Very good question. But he is being payed to trash Trump at every opportunity and the MSM gives him many.
Yes, and he was lobbying to be AG.
He still would have been a better choice than Sessions.
Of course, hindsight is 2020.
As Governor, he had an executive team to manage the day to day affairs of New Jersey. As a prosecutor, he had a team of associate lawyers, paralegals, and administrators to do the daily work. Managing something smaller, but much more immediate, like a Presidential transition team that has only 12 weeks to get the job done, exposed Christie's true abilities.
He failed at the job and it cost him all of his desired future opportunities.

I think they were a lot more people than just Chris Christie involved at that time, including the Trump family. I think that blame gets shared all around, plus Trump has shown since that he can’t pick people even if it’s left up solely to him.
Agree!
Yes, because he was a US Prosecutor.
He was a government paper-pusher. Never spent a nanosecond in a courtroom. He’s just another government leech.
Christie is being well paid to go on near daily Trump bashing appearances.

Yes, gibsonguy, you have it exactly right.
Promoting all these weak candidates — who have not a asnowball’s chance in Florida of winning — is merely cover for the larger strategy of taking Trump down — in he GENERAL ELECTION, not the primary.
Christie’s message gets a bigger play because it’s considered fair game in a fake “race to win the Republican primary”.
But the “race” is over and has been for a long time.
And let’s not kid ourselves, the Bushies, NeverTrumpers, and Uniparty are grooming DeSantis as the next Chris Christie.
But so be it. As MAGA supporters we need to stick to our guns and realize this is all part of the necessary tussle to defeat the GOPe and give the Republican party back to We the People, promote main street not just wall street business, and make policies that unite and build America up and not tear it apart.
You’re gonna get lapped, fat boy.
As MAGA supporters we need to stick to our guns and realize this is all part of the necessary tussle to defeat the GOPe and give the Republican party back to We the People, promote main street not just wall street business, and make policies that unite and build America up and not tear it apart.
Amen.
