Ex-officer Derek Chauvin, convicted in George Floyd’s killing, was stabbed in prison, AP source says

Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murdering George Floyd, was stabbed by another inmate and seriously injured Friday at a federal prison in Arizona, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.

The attack happened at the Federal Correctional Institution, Tucson, a medium-security prison that has been plagued by security lapses and staffing shortages. The person was not authorized to publicly discuss details of the attack and spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity.

The Bureau of Prisons confirmed that an incarcerated person was assaulted at FCI Tucson at around 12:30 p.m. local time Friday. In a statement, the agency said responding employees contained the incident and performed “life-saving measures” before the inmate, who it did not name, was taken to a hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

No employees were injured and the FBI was notified, the Bureau of Prisons said. Visiting at the facility, which has about 380 inmates, has been suspended.

Messages seeking comment were left with Chauvin’s lawyers and the FBI.

Chauvin’s stabbing is the second high-profile attack on a federal prisoner in the last five months. In July, disgraced sports doctor Larry Nassar was stabbed by a fellow inmate at a federal penitentiary in Florida.

Chauvin, 47, was sent to FCI Tucson from a maximum-security Minnesota state prison in August 2022 to simultaneously serve a 21-year federal sentence for violating Floyd’s civil rights and a 22½-year state sentence for second-degree murder.

“I wonder when Trump gets back the Oval can he pardon ALL of these political prisoners “

IIRC, POTUS can only pardon federal prisoners. If crimes are state or local, he can’t.

That’s why Hunter should be prosecuted in a few states. Dear ol’ Dad couldn’t step in.

The Supremes have three usually conservative justices, three always liberal justices, and three cowardly justices.

Judges, infected with liberalism, or senility (too old) premeditatedly release dangerous killers, rapists and robbers and hundreds, if not thousands, of people die each year as a result. And, nothing happens to them. They are immune to the damage from their dumbness.

Chauvin, doing his duty, in a fight, making split second decisions, was put in prison because a worthless sob not worth the clothes on his back died of drug related pre conditions.

Our so called “society” is SICK.

Actually, he did what he was trained to do, in the face of a dangerous, hostile crowd and a deteriorating situation, with 3 rookie officers.

Fentanyl, meth, uncontrolled hypertension, severe coronary artery disease, excited delerium...
Take your pick or pick all.
Chavin’s knee on his back and shoulder did not cause St Fentanyl’s demise.

Every officer on the scene tried to get Chauvin to get off Floyds neck. Its called good judgement. That’s why they aren’t all in jail.

Thanks dear.....I just hope a lot of Demonrats and WDC police officers, FBI and the rest of that rogues gallery of criminals get their just desserts for their part in January 6 and give these prisoners chances to sue this stupid, corrupt government for their treatment!! I think after more people see these tapes the more they will see what really happened. The first to be charged is Michael Byrd, the liars that testified how hurt they were and Peeloosley and the rest of the goons that played a part in it. If President
Trump gets back the OVAL I think he should call Wray in not only to fire him but send him out in cuffs!!

Indeed Associated Press News still in the misinformation business.

It’s a disease that comes with being on the left.

Umm...all of the officers ARE in prison, convicted in a sham federal trial and, then, state charges.
Chauvin was using a restraint technique, that he was trained in, to keep someone, in the throes of Excited Delerium, from bashing there head off of the pavement.
The judge refused to allow the training manuals admitted as evidence or any reference to the training, in the trial.
Watch all of the videos, including body cams, not, just, cherry picked clips.
Chauvin did not kneel on St Fentanyl’s neck for 9 minutes and murder him.
Floyd died of cardiac arrest due to a fentanyl overdose, severe coronary artery disease, uncontrolled hypertension and Excited Delerium.
These cops were sacrificed, to the woke mob, on the altar of political correctness.

Marty Made:
"The people who should make him one are too timid to make martyrs."
"Martyr Made" doesn't realize it, but he here admits that killing Chauvin would make him a martyr.

Marty Made:

"Martyr Made" doesn't realize it, but he here admits that killing Chauvin would make him a martyr.

I think what he's saying is conservative and repubs will just forget about Chauvin because they're afraid to talk about racism and make Chauvin a martyr for discrimination against whites.

Even in a different case of an obvious hate crime against a white person, most white people will mentally block it out before admitting that black people can be and are prejudice.

This especially applies to repub politicians and most "conservative" news sources because they're concerned about losing their money making gig.

Back in the day, I spent a few days here and there in a county jail where more than half the inmates were black. All I heard from them was the MF Cracka was at fault for everything. Not all of them but most.
