Following complaints from Native American groups, Minnesota's long-standing state flag and seal are undergoing an overhaul partly due to "racist undertones" supposedly on display. The state's 2023 legislative session led by Democrat lawmakers ordered both be changed because they've been deemed offensive to the Dakota and Ojibwe tribes as well as unattractive to the eye.
As it currently is, the historic 174-year-old seal—centered on the Minnesota flag—depicts a Native American atop a horse riding away into the sunset whilst a pioneer plows a field in the foreground with a rifle leaning on a nearby stump. "Native Americans have condemned this image for its depiction of a white settler encroaching on Native territory," the Minnesota Reformer wrote.

The minority of the “Easily Offended” strikes out into new territory. The tribes involved (Dakota and Ojibway) have little interest in whatever negative stereotypes are depicted, but the rabble-rousers (most of whom have no actual connection to either tribe) are taking up the cause, to bludgeon others with this sign of “disrespect”.
True. End of story.
Several years ago, the Edmonton CFL team chose to change their name. For decades they were known as the ‘Eskimos’. They changed their name to the ‘Elks’.
Given how they caved to pressure from a miniscule number of the ‘permanently offended’, I suggested their new name should have been the ‘Edmonton Emasculated’. Unfortunately, it failed to get enough support.
How about the ‘Edmonton Metrosexuals?’

I think the horse rider is trampling the plowed field and is getting ready to use his spear against the farmer plowing his field in the early morning.
Minnesota lost its flag long ago...it has been solid white for years.

And it looks like a sunrise to me, not sunset. The guy plowing laid his rifle down in show how peaceful he is towards the Indian.
Perhaps the guy was plowing with the horse and because he laid his rifle down the Indian stole the horse and is riding into the sunrise so the guy with the plow and gun can’t get a good sight picture looking into the sun. So the Indian gets away with stealing the plow horse and the farmers shoes.
Some of the submissions are attractive, but they should go for one of the many that have loons in them.
Looks like a flag that honors the unity of the area after overcoming divisions and conflict.
If they are against that message - the solution is for them to abandon the land...not change a flag...that won’t fix what they claim the “problem” is.
Saint George was not choked as he would not be speaking.
Health issues likely caused by lifestyle and heredity stressed him to death.
Other issue - legal assault against individual enterprise. Saint George wasn’t
paying the system the fair share of his minimal profit. He was a working man,
to his credit.
“This much maligned flag was carried proudly by Minnesota troops in the Civil War including on the battlefield of Gettysburg. Of course that heritage means nothing to the woke.”
The left hates that we won the war and freed the slaves. That’s why they got rid of the Confederates. Diminish and degrade the foe and you do the same to the sacrifice and the great victory.
