All four land crossings between the two countries are now closed.Color me skeptical, but I think there are more than four land crossings between Canada and a pissant state like Vermont alone.

Look at a map. Western New York to Canada is a very narrow strip of land. Lakes Erie and Ontario dominate the border. Northern New York, around Watertown is like four or five hours away.

Agreed. I have crossed in Vermont, on that same Rainbow Bridge, Estevan ND, Windsor ON and Vancouver WA. That’s five right there.

I believe there are four bridges across the Niagara River, entering NYS near Buffalo/Niagara Falls. There are also bridges at Windsow, ON, Cornwall, ON, Prescott, ON and the Thousand Islands. There could be other bridges that I don’t recall.
IIRC, the bridges in the Niagara area are the busiest, due to the proximity of Toronto and the US ‘rust belt’ cities along Lakes Erie and Michigan.

I’ve used 5 just between Maine and Canada.

There’s more than 100 crossings.
