Ford Motor Company and China’s Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. (CATL) are already cutting jobs and financial investment at an Electric Vehicle (EV) battery plant set for Marshall, Michigan.
In February, Ford announced the collaboration with CATL — China’s premier battery supplier — to build a $3.5 billion plant in the small community of Marshall that executives said would create 2,500 jobs.

Are you certain it isn’t lack of demand?
I have owned a number of Ford vehicles through the years; always very happy with them for dependability and easy maintenance. Glad they’re coming to their senses once again.
Just stop, though! Be on The Side of Right from this day forward! Stop making me have to DEFEND you in ANY way, shape or form. Enough! Don’t be a dick, Ford.
Excellent. Had to listen to their crap commercials all summer. Old folksy guy saying how great it would be for example, meanwhile there was corruption (apparently) as local township authorities all signed NDA agreements. <== These were the liars and thieves (all republicans) that were all recalled a couple weeks ago. Ford apparently had the wisdom to shut this chicom venture down. WHitler’s fingerprints were all over this and a good bet this commie tramp will be Newsome’s pick for VP.
Marshall is emblematic of what all those ‘Pure Michigan’ commercials a few years ago were.
It is interesting how these Chi-Coms do not want to build their plants in areas that have the infrastructure already in place and people willing to be employed by them.
Instead they pick small rural areas where they will be building over prime farm land and will have to import their workers.
Do you find that interesting?
Because I find it simply fascinating.
LOL, that’s a keeper! (in fact I’m stealing it)
Never been much of a Ford fan & never owned one of their products, although there are a few of the older ones that appeal to me. In this instance, I think Ford is doing the right thing; apparently moving away from EV production.
They have to. If they keep making EVs for much longer they’ll be bankrupt.
“”executives said would create 2,500 jobs””
Just how many of those 2,500 jobs were for firefighters to fight the battery fires?
Indeed Trump warned them you’ll be out of a job in two years.
