Yeah, the Secret Service MUST be non-partisan, or consciously subordinate any partisanship it may have in order to fulfill its mission, which all agents have sworn an oath to do.
Nixon got a lot of flak for one or two clumsy attempts to use agencies against political opponents. Under Biden there is 100 times as much politicization of the agencies (FBI, DOJ, etc.) and the media doesn't consider it newsworthy.

FBI Director Christopher Wray, Deputy Director Paul Abbate, and Executive Assistant Director Jennifer Moore ordered Veltri to scrub his "adamantly and vocally anti-Trump" remarks from his social media accounts in order to get a promotion.
