JERUSALEM, Israel — The Israeli government approved a deal Tuesday night that will see the Palestinian Hamas terror group release at least 50 female, child, and elderly hostages over four days, in return for a pause in the fighting in the Gaza Strip.
In return, Israel will release a greater number of convicted Palestinians — though none who have been convicted of murder. Israel will resume the fight as soon as the hostages are delivered and the four-day period is over, as it works to destroy Hamas.

How does Israel find enough prisoners that want to be released into Gaza? I’d stay in prison over a certain death sentence.
Why does everyone tell Israel how to fight a war? Israel is making a mistake.

The flow of war materials into Gaza must be mind boggling.
Bibi is screwed. He will get 50 hostages back—none of which will be IDF soldiers—and many more soldiers will die from the arms being smuggled into Gaza during this four day pause.
I understand the PR aspect of this. I just think it’s stupid. But...I don’t have relatives being held hostage.
Resupply/refresh forward units? Let HUMINT catch up to operations planning? Could be any number of ways this helps the IDF.
Good news...now get to work on creating humanitarian corridors for Gaza civilians and implementation of a more permanent ceasefire in the region.

After the release of the hostages, IDF should drop a MOAB on their main HQ.

I can understand this from Israel’s perspective. At least they’re getting 50 of the hostages back. My understanding is arms are not flowing into Gaza because the Israelis have an iron grip on the coast, the air and all borders except the one with Egypt and the Egyptians are not smuggling arms in...and I think the Israelis would know if they were. It does give Hamas a little breathing space but a pause for release of hostages was probably always on the cards.
So Hamas gets what they wanted, hamas prisoners, to go back into battle for them
Stupid, Stupid, Stupid. Hamas will provoke a shooting, say Israel violated the terms, not release all 50, make up excuses as to why they can’t, but will and 4 days will turn into 4 weeks then 4 ever. They will not comply, blame Israel for not being in good faith and then never return hostages. They need to tell Hamas, they will kill 10 hostages for every hostage not released over the next 4 days. It will be a secret between them 2 not the world to know. The mental inbred midgets will think they are getting over on Israel and look good in public opinion, then Israel continues its extermination.
So Israel is getting what for the rest of the hostages? Televised beheadings? ANY DEAL MUST INCLUDE ALL OF THE HOSTAGES!!
