If you have not read this thought-provoking book (published in 1979) it’s well worth your time to read: The Culture of Narcissism by Christopher Lasch.
“Transgender” children are the fruit of a tree that has been growing for some time.
Some of y’all like to harp away at the idea that “liberal women need to be forced (somehow) to have children and that will straighten them out” and blah, blah, blah-de-blah, blah.
You’re entitled to your opinion, which is not exactly a stupid one, but in order to know its true value, turn around and look what happens when these hyper-liberal parents DO reproduce.
I would say that a cat is a much better idea for a lot of today’s women.
And it’s not just sexual reproduction going on here: The ideas that are pimped in public school and about 99.9% of colleges in the USA are reproducing, too. So even a kid from a nice, normal family with regular values will have these hyper-liberal ideas implanted in its mind after exposure to non-reproducing commie teachers in public school.
So a nice, normal, Gd-fearing, law-abiding conservative family can have ten kids. Of course, in a family that large a couple of them are going to be bad eggs no matter what anyone does, so that leaves eight. Still a lot of kids, right?
Send these eight kids to public school. (Conservative ‘rents are not going to be able to send them to private school because that’s too expensive.)
Now, no matter how sh1tty their education is in said public school, a couple of them are probably going to turn out okay in spite of all that.
So that leaves six. Six leftist-indoctrinated little frogs are what we have. They may not be gender-confused, but they are going to have been coached to be very tolerant towards the scorpions. Parents will complain, but - HAHA! - it’s going to be too late for that.
It’s nice to have something to blame for our completely effed-up culture, but in the end, how much difference will it make?
You can’t get into a trannie’s face and scream at it that it needs to have babies to fix all the world’s problems.
Narcissistic parenting “wins.”
Each generation gets more and more mentally unstable.
The current crop of young teens going through transition are part of a larger cohort of non-transitioning teens — but I think a very big percentage of the whole crowd are messed in the head: from their crazy parents, from the schools, from social media, from the pandemic, from everything.
And one way or another this crop of ultra-crazy teens will be reproducing in 10 or 20 years. And their kids will likely be even more messed up. I’d say 2050 isn’t looking good.
I have no idea how a society turns this around. Because it’s not just the “transition” fad. It’s a broad swath of mental illness, and as you point out in your citation of a book from 1979, this isn’t new, it’s not transitory. This is a deeply entrenched problem.
