The ad, released by Newsom and the Campaign for Democracy PAC, railed against the criminalization of women who receive abortions and the doctors who perform such procedures in the Sunshine State.
“Abortion after six weeks will be punishable by up to five years in prison,” the narrator continued. “Even though many women don’t even know they’re pregnant at six weeks. That’s not freedom. That’s Ron DeSantis’s Florida.”
DeSantis’s campaign responded to the ad Sunday, calling it “sheer desperation” from Newsom in a post on the DeSantis War Room account.

Of course, the left, after seeing how they can use abortion to win issues and offices from republicans, smell blood and are now play testing abortion against desantis...
And desantis has shown he's for further restrictions, after signing a 6 week abortion ban bill, after the state already had 15 week restrictions....
First let me say I’m a big DeSantis fan, but is Newsom running for something? Why has no one pinned this guy down and asked him about his plans for 2024? You know if he were a Republican every media outlet would be running with a mic asking for a pledge to finish out his gubenatorial term.
It’s irrelevant because DeSantis will never, ever be the Republican nominee for President.

Sorry Newsom, but your reverse psychology on us conservatives will not work with DeSantis - he’s a totally LOST CAUSE as far as most conservatives are concerned. You’re going to be stuck running against Trump.
Freedom is the options to kill your child? I dont see how anyone can truly feel free after doing that.
The point is that the right’s messaging on abortion and being pro life has been terrible.
And it’s been made worse, after the success of having roe v wade, by all those that now push increasing restrictions and banning abortion again on the federal level... almost as if some of these ‘republicans’ were deliberately sabotaging things.
And the left and pro abortion movement have figured out how to effectively push their message, leading to such things as the passage of constitutional abortion in ohio, as well as the defeat of various republican candidates, based on fears they will ban or restrict abortions.
You can’t have government be governing with conservative or right leaning views, if you can’t get them into office.
And desantis has a big problem with that, by pushing 6 week abortion ban, when he should have just left the 15 week restrictions in place and not commenting on if he would push for a federal 6 week or complete ban on abortion.
Nope, big pharma is running the lockdown anti 2A prez. Trumps vax bought him a lot of power. Or maybe it’s his Disney groomers support.
