Imagine there may be no help: conclusions of US Special Representative’s visit to Ukraine
Ukrainska Pravda ^ | November 16, 2023

Penny Pritzker, US Special Representative for Ukraine’s Recovery, has suggested that officials imagine how the country could survive economically without US aid during her first visit to Ukraine.

Source: Ukrainska Pravda with reference to a source familiar with the talks; Andrii Hunder, the president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine

Details: Pritzker met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the prime minister and government officials, the chairman of the parliament and American businesses. In addition, she even attended a congress of regional authorities together with Andrii Yermak, Head of the President's Office.

Ukrainska Pravda stated that her first visit to Ukraine had left "a rather disturbing aftertaste in many government offices" here.

One of the sources, familiar with the course of Pritzker's meetings, said that she tried to "lead [them] to the idea" of how Ukraine could survive economically without American aid.

Quote from the source: "At the meetings, Penny tried to get people to think, like, let's imagine that there is no American aid: what do you need to do over the next year to make sure that your economy can survive even in this situation? And it really stressed everyone out."

More details: Andrii Hunder, the president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, told Ukrainska Pravda that Pritzker's main question during her visit and meetings with businesses was "What hinders success and who hinders it?"

The UP article reads that perhaps the strongest concern among most people who interacted with Biden's representative was her call not to wait for Western assistance, but to seek areas of growth as if it wouldn't be coming.

This thesis was "anxiously conveyed from mouth-to-mouth in the corridors of Ukrainian politics" after Pritzker departed from Kyiv. Such a call sounded particularly threatening against the backdrop of Republicans in Congress blocking assistance to Ukraine.

And, of course, military aid will be the first thing cut off and Ukraine will have no choice to surrender if that happens.

She was preparing the Ukrainians for inevitable.

Xi Jinping told Biden that Ukraine belongs to Putin.

You know, the British Empire never referred to Nyasaland, Malaya, and Sierra Leone as “allies”.

Maybe we should learn from their example.

Xi Jinping told Biden that Ukraine belongs to Putin.

I wonder if he told Biden, Taiwan belongs to him?

The USA follows the Roman model, which before Julius Caesar, was also a Republic, thus keeping the facade of "ally" vs. conquered territory. Satellites within the empire were ruled by locals, closely tied to the Roman Government and its elites in finances, culture and military matters. Herod nominally ruled Judea and he could have John the Baptist killed, but it was the Roman Prefect who had to give the OK to have Jesus killed.

No need.

That has been US policy since 1983, and by implication since 1972.

The US will not oppose Chinese reunification.

Ukraine is like some guy used to go to your school and you only knew him by name, if that.

30 years later he comes across hard times, shows up at your doorstep, and expects you to take him into your house.

That’s probably true. I wonder about Korean reunification?

This is going to be a disaster for the Ukraine. They were led down the garden path to a ceaseless proxy war on Ukraine soil for the benefit of NATO given NATO assurances they would keep the support flowing

NATO and Biden lied and now the Ukraine is being brought to the brink of economic and military collapse as NATO and Biden default on their unfulfillable promises.

Soon Ukraine will be at the mercy of Russia after squandering all the support they have been given on worthless military actions

They should have used the supplied weapons to build an impregnable defense in depth and to conserve their troops and military assets to provide leverage for a negotiated settlement reached from a position of strength

Now they are out of everything and much of their soldiers are either dead or out of action with no possibility of replacement. They may soon collapse and Russia can over run them at their leisure.

This end game scenarios was plainly obvious in Feb this year at least

Imagine....
Imagine that you have a condo in Fort Myers, the epicenter of hurricane Ian..
Imagine that you still have a destroyed home, a year after the hurricane hit.
Imagine the fed denying you funds.

Imagine money laundering human trafficking Ukraine getting your tax dollars, while you stay homeless.

Screw Ukraine.
Help Americans with American dollars first.
