As soon as I became a teen, I started babysitting, practically every $$ was spent at the record shop.

They had these booths with headphones that you could listen to whatever you wanted to.

The shop was in the mall right next to my Jr. High, so we would hit it on the way home from school.

Never got into Brubeck and Jazz but had friends who did.

Have a bunch of folk music albums, especially Baez and Pete Seeger, The Kingston Trio. Also Poso Seco Singers, the Association, Elvis, Barry McGuire, The Byrds, The Beach Boys, Duane Eddy, The Everly Brothers, The Mamas and the Papas, ABBA, The Righteous Brothers, The Four Seasons and Diana Ross and the Supremes to name a few.

Old albums are hard to come by, you have some classics I’m sure but don’t know anything about selling them.

I’m thinking your grandson would love them all.

Funny...I kind of like Paul. I like that he doesn’t pull puinches, tells it like it is, and even uses acerbic humor and hyperbole to make his point.

Like my FAVORITE President.

Oh...and Paul didn’t like “disloyalty” or people not following through, leaving him in the lurch, or bailing out.

And he wasn’t shy about saying so.

Some people don’t like that. LOL.

Good point.   (On the other hand, didn't he brag about having a big fight with St. Peter, and didn't he part ways for a while with Barnabas and John Mark, after major arguments between them?)

LOL...I stopped listening paying much attention to POP/R&R whatever in the late '60s.

Then when the progeny cam along, I had to hear, whether I liked it of not, I too had to hear '80s stuff, until boarding school started.

Oh I LOVED the EVERLY BROTHERS!

Did you do THE STROLL?

Also liked The Big Bopper, and all of the "funny" songs like PURPLE PEOPLE EATER, GET A JOB, etc.!

Sounds like a perfect mix of my mom and dad’s and Aunt’s and Uncle’s (their younger siblings) collections. With a little bit of Loretta Lynn’s 8 track, thrown in, to balance things out.

He did.

Mark bailed on Paul, and Paul didn’t want to take him on the next journey because of that.

Barnabas was Mark’s cousin, and so, defended him (Acts 14-15), so that made Paul annoyed with him.

Paul argued for gentiles joining the church, and not forcing them to be circumcised if they wanted to become Believers. This was one of his spats with Peter.

ALL of those arguments were reconciled as indicated in later letters. I think it’s a good thing that we learn that the Apostles didn’t always agree on everything, and even had arguments among them. It makes them more real to us, warts and all. (We happen to be doing the Book of Acts in the Jerusalem thread, and it’s a rollicking story, with all kinds of excitement!)

I’ve already told him that he can have ALL of them, whenever he wants. And since he’s a music major, I’m sure he’ll be taking more albums home/to college on his next visit here.

I have to add Fleetwood Mac and Jefferson Airplane to my list.

Sounds like your music experience was much like mine.

Now I can’t stand the Country of today and listen to old Country.

Oh yes, the Stroll and the Twist.

Bet you watched American Bandstand too.

Justine and her partner, I called Flash Gordon, were my favorite dancers.

Country came later for me in the 70’s, in the 60’s wouldn’t ever be caught listening to Country. 😁

Love 'em Both.

I do a lot of their songs, being a female vocalist/guitar/bass/piano player.

We still LOVE "old COUNTRY" and listen to it on car trips ( also G&S, I know, I know, weird combo ) and don't like the new stuff at all!

Give me Johnny Cash,June Carter, the Carters, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, and Burl Ives!

After ungrad, I was working and going to grad school in NYC and a couple of houses down, from where I had my first apartment, lived THE LOVIN' SPOONFULS. In the nice weather, sometime they would sit on the stoop and sing. FREE CONCERT! YAAAY! LOL

Cool!

I’m a baby beginner guitar player.

I love it but I’m not any good.

I’m also a mediocre violin-screecher and mandolin-scratcher.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
