Nothing worse than a dike intrusion.
Been watching this for the last week or so. Just keeps getting worse for Grindavik which originally was not in the high danger zone. The magma has moved eastward underground and now is situated directly under the town and to the northeast. Subsidence in the town itself is a really bad sign.
The amount of magma rising now could result in an eruption far larger than the ones a few miles east in the last three years. The situation just keeps getting worse.

I think if you live where there are numerous active volcanoes, and almost constant volcanic activity, you are aware that this will happen and are not freaked out-same goes for Hawaii and some other islands in the ring of fire. Do people move to Cali near the San Andreas fault line and not expect tremors/earthquakes?
