A Florida teacher filed a complaint against their former employer after being fired for using the gender-neutral honorific “Mx.” instead of “Ms.” or “Mr.” in emails and other school communications.
The teacher, who uses the name AV Vary over their legal name, taught high school science at Florida Virtual School, an online public school, until Oct. 24. Vary filed a complaint Wednesday with the Florida Commission on Human Relations and the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleging the school discriminated against them based on their gender identity and violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Ok, I’ll get flack for this ( I could not care less) but so what if the teacher refers to himself as “MX”? He should be able to use whatever pronoun he wants. AS LONG AS he doesn’t try to force everyone else to use his goofy language. You could probably make a freedom of speech case as well.
Teachers are supposed to teach, and not make everything about them.
I don’t the issue was ever about whether or not he was a bad teacher. As best as I can tell, there were never any complaints about his teaching performance

So what? If the guy wants to go by MX it’s his choice. The only problem I would have is if he tried to force everyone else to do the same. From what I can tell, no such demand was ever made
It is called being "Professional", if the MX freak wants to do it in personal e-mails, I don't care, but when doing that in his professional job, there is a problem, it's on the tax payers dime.

It doesn’t sound like it impacted his job performance one iota. I don’t see the problem using MX would create. As far as I know his classroom “professionalism” was never an issue.
