Only the good die young.
The last time that two Army vets faced each other in the presidential race.
IIRC Willie Horton ad came from AlGore in the primary.
Tank you so much; you were David Steinberg without the humor, Carl Sagan without the bug-eyes.
Hello, tank boi! Happy birthday!
Have a happy birthday Tank Driver
Cue Rush’s “The Loser Update” . . . heard ten minutes into my very first time listening to Rush!
"“The answer is clear in my judgment: Don’t spend any more money on highways,” Dukakis told the Boston Globe last week. "I’ve been fighting highways since the 1960s. This city would have been paved over if we let these guys do what they wanted to do. And by the time I left office, we had the best public transportation system in the country.”"
a contentious election that was marked by immense distortions of Dukakis’s record, including the infamous Willie Horton ad that invoked racial stereotypes and played to the worst instincts of white voters.

I don’t know that much about Dukakis, but he may be the last Democrat nominee for President who isn’t a rotten human being. Hyper-partisan, yes.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve read such one sided, bitter, puke inducing, biased liberal, garbage like this.”
Agreed. Just the first couple of sentences sum up the article. I won’t even bother to click on the link.
Was the author a paid employee of the Massachusetts Democrat Party or a former Dukakis staffer?
The libs declared Dukakis thirty points ahead at one point. He made Clinton look like Jesse Helms. They adored Dukakis almost as much as McGovern. We dodged one with this nut. He wanted to put Lawrence Tribe on the Supreme Court.
Only good thing I’ll say is he’s kept his mouth shut unlike other presidential candidates who’ve lost. Al gore among many.
George H.W. Bush lost the 1992 because of his Read M Lips comment that he made in 1988, but then raised taxes afterwards. Willie Horton was pivotal in the 1988 election, but that was not racist, it was factual and therefore valid. But George H.W. Bush won the 1988 election primarily because of the Reagan Presidency more than any other reason.
