I doubt DeSantis has much clout in Kentucky, but the point I’m making is that people are blaming McConnell and McDaniels for Cameron’s loss which in this race makes no sense.
And polls aside, I’d point out that Beshear won his last election in a squeaker in a very red state. This one wasn’t close.
Kentucky is hardly a "very red state," though you'd never know it from the way the state has voted over the years (especially in presidential elections).
The Republicans have a narrow margin among voter registrations in KY (1.60 million to 1.52 million), but Democrats outnumbered Republicans among the state's registered voters up until 2022.
Another Freeper astutely noted the highly myopic voter base in Kentucky earlier today. The slogan of the state's average Republican voter would be: "God, Guns and Food Stamps" LOL.
